Hi

How to setup the global calendar to dynamically calculate number of working days in a month instead of a fixed value?

Our global calendar is setup to have a fixed value of 20 days per month which is a mandatory field. This leads to wrong computation of FTE.

Thanks

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Amit,

Here's how you can set up the global calendar to dynamically calculate working days instead of using a fixed valuesuccess.planview.com:

  1. Navigate to the organization's Properties Card and click the 'edit...' link in the Calendar section
  2. Once in the editable system Calendar, click the button to access the schedule settings dialog
  3. Uncheck the option that uses a fixed number of days per month
  4. Select the option to calculate working days dynamically based on defined work week and holidays
  5. Set up your work week configuration, including:
    • Specify which day the week starts on
    • Define your working days
  6. Use the 'Add Exception' feature to include any holidays or vacation days
  7. Save all your calendar settings

This dynamic calculation should provide more accurate FTE computations compared to the fixed 20-day setting.

Hello Ashika,

Thank you for your response.

Regarding point #3 - I do not see the uncheck option that uses a fixed number of days per month.

Below is the screenshot of what I see. Please advise what I am doing wrong.

Thanks

Hi Ashika,

Just did that.

Are you able to provide a screenshot of how the global calendar looks with this checkbox unchecked in your environment?

Thank you.

Hello Amit,

My sincere apologies for the confusion in my earlier response — the functionality you’re asking about isn’t currently available in the product.

Hi Ashika,

In one post you mentioned that the functionality was available and detailed steps on how to do it and in the next you say it’s not available at all.

Now I am more confused than you.

But you responded to my query, thanks for that.

Regards

Hi @Amit N , I want to personally apologize for the confusion caused here. You were given steps for a feature that doesn't currently exist, and I completely understand how that would be both confusing and disappointing.
