The Future of Project Execution: Humans and AI Working Side by Side

Hello,It seems that itβs not possible to bundle downloads in a ZIP file through an API call. Is that correct ?Currently files can only be downloaded one by one.I thought i could sort this through API calls but itβs not working.
We have added a custom text field and want to set up a validation or workflow rule to prevent duplicates at the parent task level. While we successfully implemented a duplicate-blocking rule for the client object using the findcustomer function, we noticed that an equivalent function is not available for the workitem object.Could someone assist us in finding a solution or suggest an alternative approach?
Planview Community QuestionWe don't currently have Anvi AI available and are looking for ways to solve this with standard Planview capabilities.Question:When a new high-priority project is added or priorities change, how are you using Planview to identify:Which projects will be impacted Which resources become overloaded What work should be delayed or reprioritized The schedule impact of each optionToday this requires significant manual analysis across schedules, resources, and priorities before leadership can make a decision. We're looking for approaches using:APIs or Automations Other Planview featuresOur goal is to answer:"If I add this project, what projects, resources, and dates are impacted, and what are my options?"Has anyone solved this without Anvi AI? Any best practices, configurations, reports, or customer examples would be greatly appreciated.
I have a workflow which sends an emailΒ when something happens.Β The From Address on the email appears in Outlook as:From: AdaptiveWork <system@clarizen.com> On Behalf Of ????????whereΒ Β ???????? is the name of aΒ user with βIntegration Userβ setΒ in AdaptiveWork and it is an Admin user. This user is not the user set as theΒ Default Workflow User in General Settings.I thought that Integration User was only used for determining permissionΒ to use the API, and not related to outgoing emails, where I would expect the defaultΒ workflow user to be used. From a security point of view, Iβm not happy with sending out the user name of an integration user to anyone receiving an email from a workflowΒ (while understanding that βsecurity through obscurityβ should not be relied on).The fact that this user is an integration user may just be a coincidence or is it because the change which triggered the workflow was made via the API, but in any case I donβt want it sent out, but canβt work out where it i
Hi Team,In our organization we are onboarding users via Azure group integration. We add people in Azure group (User, resource) and after 24hours when integration runs then sync will trigger to Planview and the person gets activated/added to Planview Portfolio Prod instance. Now the challenge/gap over here is that there is noΒ email invitation goes to users. The requirements is we want the invitation email/notification goes to new user with the portfolios link. Also is there a way to configure/edit the content of the email notification means can we customize the email body.Your early response is appreciated.Β
Hi Everyone,It it possible to configure Module View or Item Details View with panel showing Change History of selected item.Any responses are highly appreciated.Sincerely,Phat Nguyen
My Organization has active ProjectPlace access. However, ProjectPlace does not appear under Products in Planview Admin nor in the Planview.Me application switcher. Is there a supported way to register ProjectPlace as a product within Planview.Me so it appears alongside Portfolios in the navigation experience?Β We currently see Planview.Me, Planview.Me Labs, Portfolios and Planview Admin through the product switcher. Is there a supported way to expose all licensed products (including ProjectPlace ) directly in the top navigation ribbon rather than the application switcher? From where i can activae or add Project Place here, My org do have PP tenant and provisioned to my account .Β Just a silly thought, can we showup all the products horizontally on Black ribbon followed by Menu, rather showing up here in the Product switcher.
Iβm exploring the Capacity Planning Module and when I look at it the βdemandβ is zero across the board for everyone. Clearly, this is not correct. Iβve read through everything I could find, but I cannot find an answer. I have resources assigned to groups as primary. Resources have been assigned to tasks. The tasks have work assigned to them. Yet, demand is zero!Β Any help would be greatly appreciated!Β Thank you!Β
Hi Everyone,I am configuringΒ aΒ Workflow rule for Project entity to automate actual end date to Contribution entity which associated to this project or CurrentObject. I guess to use function getlink but cannotΒ find LinkEntity for first parameter.Any responses are higly appreciated.Sincerely,Phat Nguyen
Has anyone else been experiencing performanceΒ issues with Planview Hub recently?Β Β It may be coincidence, but when the UI changed our performance tanked with it.It takes several minutes for pages to load and the activity log times out all of the time.Checking to see if it is our instance or if others are seeing the same thing.Β
I create a stacked chart in a report using the Created on Data field.Β It shows as 2026-05, but I want it to say May in the chart.Β I donβt see an option to change the format of this field.
Hello,Weβre trying to create a report to help us identify projects that are still in an active state but have not had time entries against them within a specified period of time. Ideally we could then report on projects that have had no activity within X months.Β Has anyone found a way to do this?
Currently, REST API access supports only API Key authentication (a long-lived JWT passed via the Authorization: ApiKey <token> header). This presents two concerns:Security β The API key is a static, long-lived token with no built-in expiry rotation mechanism. OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow provides short-lived access tokens that are automatically refreshed, reducing the risk of token compromise.Integration compatibility β Several modern tools require OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow for service-to-service authentication and do not support static API key connections.Would like to have OAuth 2.0 authentication (client credentials grant type) for AdaptiveWork. Specifically: A Token URL endpoint where we can exchange a client_id and client_secret for a short-lived access token and the ability to use that access token in the Authorization: Bearer <token> header for subsequent API calls.
I regularly use Data Loader to bulk update details for our projects. I use the Adaptivework system ID as the primary key, however I would prefer to also keep project name/code columns in my excel upload file so that if I need to refer back at a later point to the excel file I can quickly identify the projects I have changed by name.Leaving the Project Name and Code columns in the sheet for my later reference however leaves me open to making inadvertent changes or I could miss a genuine update to the project name and/or code fields as there is a few days lag between my export and import. Is there a way to keep the project name and code columns in my excel sheet but EXCLUDE them from the data loader?
Users need the ability to interact with summarized (grouped) report data directly within dashboards during meetings and discussions, without being redirected to other pages. This is important for maintaining context, improving usability, and enabling smoother navigation when presenting or analyzing data live.Current Limitation:When a grouped report is added to a dashboard, it is displayed in a summarized view. Clicking on a summary row redirects the user to the underlying project or record instead of expanding the grouped data within the dashboard itself. Unlike reports, dashboards do not support in-place expansion of grouped rows.Requested Enhancement:Enable drill-down or expand/collapse functionality within dashboard reports, allowing users to click on a grouped summary row and view the underlying items directly within the same dashboard (similar to how it works in the report view), without redirecting to another page.Expected Outcome:Users can seamlessly expand grouped data within d
Currently, certain UI elements - such as custom action buttons - do not appear or update until the user manually refreshes the page after performing an action (e.g. uploading a file). While the existing behavior is intentional to avoid disrupting multi-tasking workflows and prevent loss of unsaved data, it can create confusion for users who expect the interface to reflect changes immediately.Use Case:A user uploads a file on a project page and then navigates to the Actions menu expecting to see the 'UAT Plan - Send for Approval' button. The button does not appear until the page is manually refreshed, which feels unintuitive.Proposed Enhancement:Introduce selective/partial page refresh functionality, where only the relevant section of the page (e.g. the Actions menu) updates dynamically in response to a user action, without triggering a full page reload. This would preserve the user's current workflow and unsaved data while ensuring the UI stays in sync.

The Project module currently allows users to configure lookup filters within specific views (for example, "My Projects"). However, these filters, such as those applied to the Business Unit field, are user specific and are not enforced globally across all users.Business Requirement:The customer requires centralized control over the Business Unit filter values to:Ensure consistency in project data selection across all usersLimit available Business Unit options to only approved valuesMaintain standardized reporting and data governance across the organizationCurrent Limitation:Lookup filters are applied only at the individual user or view levelThere is no option to enforce filter values globally across all usersThis can lead to inconsistent filter behavior and potential data discrepancies in reportingRequested Enhancement:Provide the ability to configure lookup filters for fields such as Business Unit at a global level within the Project module, ensuring that defined filter values are:Enfo
The out-of-the-box Resource Summary report provides a comprehensive view of timesheet data, including work items, hours, cost, billing, and profitability. However, it currently does not include the Timesheet βReported Dateβ (time entry date) as part of the report output. While the report allows filtering using <Timesheet>.Reported Date, the absence of this field in the exported results (Excel) limits its usability for detailed analysis.Business Requirement:Users require visibility of the date associated with each time entry within the report output to: Analyze time data across specific days within a selected period Perform monthly or multi-week reporting with clear date-level breakdown Support financial reconciliation and audit use cases Enable accurate downstream processing in Excel Current Limitation: Date field is available only as a filter, not as a report column Report output is aggregated without temporal granularity Requested Enhancement:Add the ability to include T
Permission inheritance for Action Items and Decisions does not work the same as withΒ Cases (refer to setting 3.14) - and this seems like a defect. Ticket has been logged with SupportΒ (but also reaching out to the Community).Β Use Case:User added to project permissions with View access Inheritance works as expected: user can see all Risks, Issues, cases associated to the project regardless of the Case creation date For Decisions and Action Items, user can only see newΒ items created after the View access was granted. Only workaround is not much of a solution:Β Add the user as the Owner, or explicitly add as a Viewer via the Permissions for each individual Action Item or DecisionThis is a large gap in functionality that I would expect Planview to either resolve as a break/fix type enhancement, or offer some packaged WF rule that synchronizes the permissions accordingly.Β Are there any solutions or options here???
We are planning to use the function getwidgethyperlink in a WFR to create a link to the Project Gantt in a url field on all Tasks and also include the link in our Executable Task emails. The current issue is that the Gantt is only displaying the following columns: ID, Name, Start Date, Due Date and % Complete.Β We need it to display different columns.Where is this function getting the layout for the Gantt?Iβve read some AI responses that state it is pulling it from the last βsaved viewβ when viewing the Project.Β That is not accurate, the layout described above does not match any of our Gantt views saved in our Project views. Please helpβ¦Β what am I missing?
Hello,Β I had reached out about an issue where Validation Rules and Workflow Rules donβt fire on the mobile app.Β I was informed that it is because the mobile app uses API and several of our Workflow Rules check for NOT(IsTriggeredBy(βAPIβ)) to allow for our integrations to make API calls on the web page. We need to have the ability to separate out the IsTriggeredBy(βAPIβ) function to differentiate between the mobile app and the web app to prevent users from taking unwanted actions in the mobile app.
Currently, the GetWidgetHyperLink() function used in workflow rules only supports generating widget links for Gantt and Roadmap views.Customers using workflow rules to send automated emails would like the ability to dynamically generate a widget link for the Project Overview (card view). This is especially useful when emails are sent to stakeholders who do not have AdaptiveWork licenses but still need visibility into project details. At present, the card view widget can only be created manually from the UI, which is not practical when workflows need to generate links dynamically for multiple projects.Requested Enhancement:Extend GetWidgetHyperLink() to support generating a Project Overview / Card View widget link that can be used in workflow-generated emails.Benefit:Allows automated workflow emails to share high-level project information with external or unlicensed stakeholders without requiring manual widget creation.
I just want to add a user to a group in a workflow rule. Where is the Group User Link for new item type?
When selecting a risk to delete you are presented with the option to unlink or delete. When deleted, should the risk appear in the Recycle Bin? We couldn't find deleted risks reported by a PMΒ in our Production Recycle Bin and when testing in our Sandbox the deleted risk also did not appear in the Recycle Bin. Is this expected behaviour?
