JB ICE Duplicate tasks in the schedule

Hello, Issue Adaptive WorkPlease review the following project and the attached image, as we were unable to identify what caused the activities to appear duplicated in this schedule. It can be verified in the images that the activities are the same as they have the same ID.We tried to recreate the situation using the Copy/Paste option and we tried the export and import option in Excel and in neither situation were the activities duplicated, so we do not understand what caused this problem.  Regards Jhon

Objectives, Targets and Contributions | Reporting

Hi Planview Community! As mentioned before, we are trying to work with the Objectives, Target and Contributions module in AW. It’s proving to be a bit tricky! So, I wanted to ask if any of you use it, and if so, do you report from it? How?  We tried creating some reports, but failed magnifincelty. We looked for the data model, but it doesn’t seem to include them. Does anyone know if there is an updated version of the data model that includes them?Thanks a lot!

Undo Or Restore Production

Hello!Desperate need of help. I created an org calendar based upon our 2025 financial budget to account for planned PTO as we are not utilizing actual PTO/timesheets. It ruined all of our projects that had previous resource allocations, and changed everything… I’m talking 500+ projects and thousands of resources. Is there a way to undo what I did, or restore the allocations?

Actual Timesheets vs. Project Assignment Reporting

Hello PV community,I’m in need of some advice to create a report that shows resources actual timesheets vs. their project assessments.I started off with creating a report with the structure below, but when I run it, it shows the actual approved time as blank...even though I’ve check that there are in fact Approved Time to the listed projects.Any advice on creating such a report or what I may be doing wrong? Suggestions for a project not adding hrs accurately?

I have a single project that is not counting all of the hours logged in it (all approved). 10h were worked but the project sums are only recognizing 9h. I submitted a support ticket which was escalated to Tier 3, who hasn’t responded in more than a month.  Has anyone else experienced this with a project?  Was there any solution provided?

Line Detail for Expense Costs - Limited to one Expense Cost Type on Financial Plan

Hi, Within Planview Portfolios we have an attribute Expense Cost Type that is tied to the Financial Account “Expense”. Expense Cost Type has the following values:Hardware  Marketing Ongoing Expenses Other One Tine Expenses Professional Services (Exp) Research & Development Software (Licensing) Training  Travel. Our issue is that we can only have one of each category per work entity within the Financial Plan. We have projects where there are multiple “Professional Services (Exp)” contracts. We would like to keep the information distinct for each contact vs. having to roll-up the cost into one Expense under “Professional Services (Exp)”.  We looked at using “Expenditure Type”. It does allow us to create multiple “Professional Services (Exp)” and thereby keep the contract cost information distinct. Yet when we load the multiple “Expenditure Type” values into the Financial Plan they are summarized into one line.Short of adding additional attribute values Expense Cost Type is there anot

Custom Object for dynamic scoring

Hi All!I am brand new to AdaptiveWork / Clarizen and trying to grasp how something like this would be built, and/or how easy it would be.Use Case:  We have about 20 fields with associated score values, and we wish to use the score values in a formula to calculate another field.Approach:  Rather than hardcoding the score values within a formula, I created a Custom Object with the possible field values and the associated scores. This seems easier to maintain than a ton of code. Also, I’m trying to learn how the product works so it’s also just for my curiousity.Question:  How hard is it to create Business Rule that looks at a field value, and then does a lookup to a record in a Custom Object and retrieve the Score value? I was able to get as far as retrieving a value from the Custom Object by using the GetObjectByID function, but only when I hardcoded in the ID.  I am looking to do a join on the Name field rather than ID between my request field and the possible entries of the Custom Obje

Inquiry about PV Portfolios Integration with AgilePlace

Hello,I am trying to integrate PV Portfolios with AgilePlace, specifically from a Project Container to a Work Item in AgilePlace, but I am unable to create the integration since AgilePlace does not have Project Containers. Resetting user-set filters on a report

Hi Community,I have a report which is expected to be run via a button on a view of the project - the button (which is a custom URL field) passes in the Project name to an action which generates the report - see bottom of this email for how this works.My problem is that occasionally, the more enthusiastic users try editing the filters on the report so generated to see the data in a different way. Unfortunately, if they remove the filter, running the report via the button causes an error as their instance of the report is not expecting the field which is passed in. As an Admin, is there any way to reset the filters on user’s instance of a report remotely? Custom Field on time phased data for reporting - not showing up

I can’t get my custom field to show in report creation. I’m creating a custom field which is just :$ActualEffort / Days(21)So that the result is numeric as an approximation for FTE equivalent. I create on labour time phased data - but it will not show up when building a report. Any ideas?

Renaming Objectives and Targets

Hi Planview community,We are introducing benefit realisation into our organisation and are interested in keeping language and terminology coherent throughout.We’ve noticed that the whole Objectives, Targets, and Contributions module is fit to tailor, and we love that 😍. However, we have encountered some cases in which customisation wasn’t possible.We were able to rename Targets to Benefits but failed to adjust the terminology in the “Related Items” section.Maybe some of you have found a way to adjust this? Would you kindly walk me through it?Thanks!Maca

Risk Assignment Email Notification

Hello PV Community, Seeking some advice on how to configure an email notification for when a new owner is assigned to a Risk and Action. I’ve got the action configured but could use some help on configuring the email notification.  What field can I input so in the email it shows the Risk’s associated Customer, Project and Link? When I select Formula Options, Project nor Customer is available to select.  I am sure there is a field somewhere that links the risk to the project it’s created under and I won’t have to create a new custom field.Appreciate any guidance. Thank you :)

Non Labor - How to have multiple times the same non labor item (name) within a project, with different additional fields

I need to distinguish in my projects different non-labor expenses categories. This distinction shall be done per location. Example : “non-labor resources A” for location A, and “non-labor resources A” for location B.One of the solution would be to differentiate in the non-labor resources list them (ie “non-labor resources A location A” and a second one “non-labor resources A location B”). Doing so, the list of choices proposed to the project manager will explode (in my case more than 60), which will not be that easy for the userIve seen in the last AW documentation (see below) that there is an example with “vendor” column, whcih can be edited. Does it mean that i can have (to stay in the example below) multiple times “Telephone” with different vendor? Or there is still the limitation that the non labor resources can be used only once ?Any idea how i can solve my issue?

Workflow Rule - generate email when Resource is assigned to a Task

I am pretty new to AdaptiveWork and I’m trying to understand the best approach for a Workflow Rule where an email notification is sent to the Resource and Program Manager when a Task (within a particular Portfolio) is created and/or edited.  I will provide specifics attempts I’ve made but a general question I have is: how do you determine the best actor for the rule?  I have tried to create a Workflow Rule from ‘Task’ and from ‘Resource’; each have presented challenges.  This particular portfolio is being used primarily as a virtual Inbox for task assignment and reporting on hours worked (not Project Management) though Tasks are nested under Projects.  Note: The former is creating the emails within the Task but not emailing out.  Workflow Rule for : 'Task'Run time: Every time a record is created or editedCriteria: $ParentProject.C_PortfolioNameSend EmailTo: $ResourceCc: $Parent.ProjectManagerSubject: New Task Assignment: {$Name}Body: Hello [I want to name the Resource here but I’m not

Custom Workflow to update a field on related entity when an email is created/attached

Hello AdaptiveWork Champions,  Typically this is relatively straight forward but running into all kinds of issues and could use some help. I am working with AdaptiveWork Emails related to Cases (Requests and Bugs) which is very old technology so it may simply not work anymore. However, here is what I am trying to accomplish…Use Case - update State field on related entity (Cases) when an email is received, specifically when email From is not equal to Assigned To. This will tell the system that the requestor has replied to the case and the State should be changed from Pending response to Work in Progress. However, I am running into the following issues…When building the Evaluation Criteria, I am not able to see Related Entity > <Cases Item>.Item Type to specify the rule to run only on Requests and Bugs with specific other data points. Fine, so I removed evaluation criteria to only run when the the related entity > ID was a certain value, still nothing Set evaluation to run al

Project creation from template and Project Assignment

Hi everyone,I’m curious if the behavior we are experiencing is correct.We built templates for some of our projects, which are very detailed and include all the resources that should be involved for each task. We noticed that when creating a new project from the template, it duplicates the template. So far, so good—this is working as expected.However, if the template has any values assigned at the project level for any of the resources, we observe different behaviors when creating a project from it:In some cases, project assignment values for the resource are assigned after the project’s due date. In other cases, random project assignment values are entered for the resource.Has anyone experienced such behaviors? Is this normal?Thanks!

Capacity Confusion for Part-Time Staff

Hello,We have many employees who are part-time and we have adjusted their work schedules in the individual calendar so that their capacity is less than 100%. For example, a resource that works 30 hours per week (out of 40 hours total) will have a capacity of 75%.Our users get very confused when reviewing the Resource Planning module/view and compare capacity and assignment when Units is selected. The capacity of the resource might be 75%, so our users think that all of the assignments should only total to 75% or less. Actually, the assignments should total to 100% or whatever the target utilization is for the resource. Unfortunately, our users consistently fail to remember this and we have to retrain them continuously.Does anyone have any suggestions for how to help users remain that assignments, when viewed in Units, can be more than the capacity of the resource if the resource is part-time?Thank you,Carey
