Planview AdaptiveworkHi,I have a resource who has already been assigned to Project A, say 0.5 to Sep and 0.5 to Oct, now,If the same resource’s allocation needs to be increased - to be assigned 0.6 to Sep and 0.6 to Oct, how should the staffing request be, should it be for delta, i.e,. 0.1 and 0.1 or 0.6 and 0.6 respectively. If the request is in the latter format, the capacity planning shows 1.1 and 1.1, overallocation. If it is delta, then it becomes challenging to track. What is the best practice? If the same resource’s allocation needs to be decreased - what should be done?We do not want to turn off the staffing request required flag as we want the resource manager to approve.Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Planview AdaptiveWorkHi,As an admin, I found that a particular user has both the Project Manager profile as well as Resource Manager profile (the Project Manager profile is active) by navigating to:Settings - Profile and selecting Project Manager profile - Members and similarly for Resource Manager profile.My question is - how to produce a custom report to identify all profiles for all active users.When I use the user object, I can only get the active profile. When I use the user, profile and profile members objects, the results are all skewed.As AW doesn’t have any join provision, reporting seems to be like searching for needle in haystack.Can someone please advise what all objects to join?Thanks

We plan to only use a custom action for adding risks and issues and would like to remove the OOTB Add Related options for both to minimize confusion when adding risks and issues 

Hello,Does anybody know why I cannot retrieve the “resources” field when working on a workflow rule for a task ?I want to automatically assignt tasks when specific criteria are met but i’m not able to find the “resources” field in the formula sections. 

Hello, I am trying to use a Validation rule to block the completion of a task and redirect them to a custom action. This part was easy. However, the text in the pop up is plain text and does not show as a URL Link (Blue/Underlined). How can I fix this? Here is the code I am using…<a href="{GetCustomActionUrl(<CustomActionName>,GetRuntimeParameter($ParentProject))}" style="color: blue; text-decoration: underline;">Update Closure Notes</a> I have also tried the following…{Hyperlink(GetCustomActionUrl('CustomActionName',GetRuntimeParameter($ParentProject)),'Update Closure Notes')} Both versions work but neither show the URL link with Blue/Underlined to stand out. Please advise 

Hi community - I’m having an issue with pulling a report that shows a list of all our portfolio projects, however the report is pulling both parent and sub projects, ultimately double counting. Does anyone have any tips on how to only show:projects with no sub projects + sub projects of projects with parentsFor example, project “a” has sub projects “b” and “c”. Our reporting is pulling through metrics from project “a”, “b”, and “c” which is double counting, inflating our metrics. Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hello PV Community,Does anyone have experience or know how to move cases from one project to another? We have several cases associated to a project that can’t be re-added manually to the other project - so is there a way to bulk move cases? Or maybe export then re-import them in bulk?Many thanks!

Is it possible to run a Custom Action when a Workflow Rule is triggered?

Hello Community, I am trying to show the Current Active Milestone at the Project level for visibility on projects and reports. I was able to create a rule that updates this field based on a filter using State = Active and Executable = True. When there are dependencies used and only one Active/Executable Milestone at any given time on the project, this works flawlessly. The issue arises when there are older WBS in play and dependencies are not properly used. In this case, there can be multiple Milestones with Active/Executable state and the rule always updates with the last Milestone not the first, which would be the preferred outcome.  Question: Short of updating every project to use dependencies at the milestone level as a limitation to this configuration, is there anyway to bypass this issue and roll up the Current Active Milestone wheather there is one that matches or the first milestone when there are multiple matches.Hope this makes sense. Hi,PlanView AdaptiveWork - Creating reportI need to create a report that lists for a particular project:-all project assignments by month-all staffing requests (this includes named requests as well as those unnamed request by job titles) by monthI am able to create the project assignment project by month by using the objects - User Resources→ Capacity Time Phased Data (monthly)→ Labour Time Phased Data (monthly) but then clueless on how to get staffing requests including in this.Looking for any advice on which objects to choose to create such a report or link to any tutorials on reporting.Thanks 

Hi, I’ve got a configuration which adds a Project Start-up and a Project Closure Milestone (created from templates) to a project. Is there any way to force the Project Start-up milestone to appear at the start of the project in workplan view? The default seems to be to add to the end which happens to work for the Project Closure milestone.More generally, can I specify in a workflow that a particular new work item should be before or after an existing item? Effectively I want to manually set the Sequence Order in the Hierarchy link for the new task, but I don’t think I can do that.Thanks

Hello!We are facing some challenges with the duration of some tasks. We are working with Fixed duration tasks and the duration is changing without intervention from the project manager or team member. Has anyone experience this? How can we figure out what’s causing this change / solve it?Thanks

I found an article online to make that happen Requesting Resources (Staffing Requests) – Clarizen Success, but this doesn’t work. Anyone was able to get both of them on the same page/ view.ThanksRegards

Our resources are located all over the world and as a Project / Program Manager we need to be able to see in Portfolios when the resource and project calendars misalign.  We are looking to create an alert or flag to notify them when there is such a discrepancy that requires their intervention.   When searching CSC, I have not been able to locate articles or suggestions on how we can supply them with that without using “AdaptiveWork” which is not in the budget. 

Hello Community, I am trying to build a workflow that will update a custom numeric field named “Sequence”. This field will run on the Project object and then assign a numeric value to every Milestone regardless of how many.For example:Milestone1 = 1001Milestone2 = 2001Milestone3 = 3001etc. The issue I am having is the variable I am configuring within the rule only provides me the last Milestone value and then assigns it to all the Milestones. Per my example above, there are 3 Milestones and the last Sequence value is 3001. All 3 Milestones are given this value creating an undesired duplication when ran on Sub Items from Project object.  Question: Is there a way to make this run so that the values are specified correctly per my example above without the duplication?

Planview AdaptiveWorkHi,Do dynamic layouts override profile layouts? And where do views figure in this picture? What layout will the views take?I also noticed while creating views that there are 5 options:one column layout two columns layout work plan layout resource planning layout financial planning layoutAt the project level, I have tried creating views using the 5 layout options and realise that there are some default info in each of the layouts that I do not need. How do I change/ edit, say, the resource planning layout?Any guidance will be highly appreciated.Regards

Hello! Is there a way to expand a text box within a form in AdaptiveWork? I know I can change the CSS in Global setting but that only allows me to make the default size of forms to wider or narrower. Scrolls do appear within the frame of the text box when the content is longer than the height of the text box, but it is annoying not being able to see what I typed at the very top without scrolling up. Hi,I have been reading about API keys here: https://success.clarizen.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011833079-API-Keys-Support and have hope someone here has experience about key management, especially with respect to their expiry.The systems I will be having to give API access into AdaptiveWork are likely to be externally managed, so there will be time and cost associated with changing keys, and I am obviously trying to avoid any time periods where the external system cannot access AdaptiveWork.I understand how to create an API key, but see that it has an expiry set on it by default of, I think, a year. Is there any way to create a key with a longer expiry (so I don’t need to worry about this ever ideally)?If not, is there any way to extend the expiry date so a fresh key is not required? (and ideally generate a reminder that it needs doing).If not is there a way to generate another key while the first key is still active - is this the intended usage of the secondary key?N.B. **EDIT:  The title should read “Effort to Duration Ratio”.  I don’t appear to be able to edit the title**Hello everyone.I want to produce a report that shows a ratio of how long it takes to deliver a project vs how much effort was assigned to it.I’d also like to assign the same formula to actual cost vs budget assigned.For example:  100 hours assigned but 200 hours duration would be a ratio of 2 - its taken twice as long to deliver as the hours assigned.  This is a key metric for us at it allows us to see how quickly we can deliver projects.The calculation is simple enough - $Duration / $BudgetedHours.  But I receive the following error: “Error: Formula evaluation result data type is Numeric instead of expected Duration" Thanks for any assistance

I have got a workflow rule that runs on an update to risk/issues, counting the total # of open risk/issues (by status) from the parent project. The counts returned are incorrect when the workflow runs it, but noticed that if it simply runs a second or two later it is correct.What’s the best way to incorporate a pause or delay to avoid this problem?
