How do you create a RAG Status that is compiling Baseline Effort vs Effort to date for example? Also in Planview.Me I cannot see custom columns. When will that be available?
I would like to know what best we can serve to PM’s and RM’s and importantly to leadership using Planview.Me labs or in simple words can you suggest me the widgets, filters, and useful Dashboards to create. Also i am recently going to start the custom reporting to serve my business as per their needs.Like we face challenges getting calculated fields in Fastrack report hence need of custom report is needed where they can see the calculated field colums. Open for your response :)
I’m curious whether other customers have run into this same limitation with timesheet cutoff dates.Today, when the cutoff date is reached, users lose visibility to past timesheets entirely. From what we’ve seen, the setting does not just prevent editing — it also prevents users from viewing their previously submitted timesheets. Our use case is that we would still like users to be able to view past timesheets in read-only mode after the cutoff date, while continuing to prevent any edits. Submitted timesheets are effectively permanent records, and users often need to reference them for historical review, reconciliation, or support questions. The current behavior creates some friction because:users cannot reference their own submitted timesheet history support questions increase when users need prior-period details the business need is usually to restrict edits, not visibilityHas anyone else run into this? If so:how are you handling it today? have you found any workaround that allows read-
Users Struggling with Using Portfolios Plan Schedule Screen they are abandoning it and going back to MS ProjectDoes anyone have advice on how to tackle these issues? 🔴 Core Trust Problem (Executive Level)Users do not trust the schedule in Planview as a reliable source of truth Leadership cannot consistently determine: What is actually on track What has slipped What actions are needed 📅 Schedule Behavior / Date Movement Confusion Dates shift automatically with no clear explanation to users Users do not understand why dates moved Movement feels unpredictable Changing duration or dates can unintentionally break dependencies Users are unsure when they are impacting downstream tasks Requires manual rework → lowers confidence in the tool “Respect durations” behavior is not understood Users do not know: When it applies Why work shifts vs stays fixed Leads to inconsistent schedule outcomes across projects No clear indication when milestones are truly late vs still valid Hard
We expect that projects with "Respect Durations" setting on will push effort that is not tracked against to the future.BUT this doesn't seem to be working in the system - why?We a ticket several days ago to Customer Support asking WHY the "Progress Tasks and Allocations" has the “Respect Durations” option selected for projects BUT it is not moving the allocation end date forward, the effort is just piling up against the date. Is it because we aren't using requested start date? Do we need to import that date for every project? Separate issue: WHY are % utilization going over 300%? We have made that the max
URGENT please - A basic requirement in Project Management from our project managers, effort and cost breakdown vs time? Using Portfolio Financial Plan, how can we see the roll-up cost at parent task levels…A typical WBS is as follows:ProjectWork stream 1 Cpy A Task A.1 Task A.2 Cpy B Task B1 Task B2Work stream 2 Cpy C Task C1 Task C2 Cpy B Task B1 Task B2The leaf level is Task. How can I see the rolled-up effort and cost per month in the financial plan for Work Stream and Cpy level? In the Financial plan/report, we would like to see (for labour cost and effort) Mth1 Mth2 ...Workstream 1 £55 £65 Cpy A £30 £30 Task A.1 £10 £5 Task A.2 £20 £25 Cpy B £25 £35 Task B1 £5 £20 Task B2 £20 £15 The Financial Plan only show the Effort and
I wanted to see whether other customers have run into the same limitation with column sets and dependent structures. In our environment, we use dependency logic across structures/attributes so that when a user selects one value, the next field is filtered appropriately. This works as expected in configured screens, where users are guided to valid combinations. However, we’ve found that the same dependency logic does not appear to be enforced when users edit those fields through a column set. Instead, users can see and select all available values, even if they would normally be filtered out on the screen. This creates a few challenges for us:users can select invalid combinations data entry behavior is inconsistent between screens and column views we may need to disable column editing entirely for those attributes, which reduces flexibility and makes updates less efficientFrom an admin perspective, it would be very helpful if column sets respected the same dependency behavior that already e
Hi Experts,I have a question around the “Apply Discounting” in Investment and Capacity Planning. When we create new scenario, there is the option of Apply Discounting and I can change it to say 50%. I want to plan a scenario, where I want to make it 50% of the demand cost and see if I can approve and thats why this modeling I need to perform. Can someone explain how this discounting works? I have a Financial SubTotals field (say Total Costs (WV)) with Apply Discounting enabled.
Is it possible for admins to add Lifecycle Roles to Requests column sets (e.g., Exec Sponsor)? It can be done for Work column sets, but I was told that it’s not available for Requests.
Microsoft Teams is a central part of our Technology Stack - how do we integrate it into the Planview Portfolios? We originally deployed ProjectPlace but it has been forsaken because Teams has the document storage, better chat functionality, recording of meetings etc.
Currently, my team is experiencing Power BI refresh issues. I noticed it when we upgraded our sandbox to May 2026 release. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Right now all meetings are in Microsoft Teams, Channel Chats, Individual Chats, documents are stored in Teams etc. How do other companies incorporate that Execution into the Planview Suite and their workflows?

Hi All, Do you know recent Deep Dive session is the same as Inner circle, or is Inner circle that has all different customers something different?
Does anyone have a good strategy for managing sandbox environments in a connected Planview setup? We’re interested in understanding how others use SB1, SB2, and SB3 for configuration, testing, training, and release validation before promoting changes into Production. If you have a process that works well, I’d especially love to hear: how you manage promotion and governance across environments how you handle sandbox refreshes, validation, and ownership how you think about cross-product or multi-database considerations any lessons learned from operating in a more controlled or highly governed environment Any examples or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
In PV Portfolios, for each of the RAG indicators displayed in the WRK14 report (wbs721 through to wbs726) I have updated the attribute’s Definition and the Display Name however the new name is not reflected when the report is generated. What have I missed?
Hi everyone,We are currently working on refining our project prioritization scoring model within Planview for a healthcare environment and wanted to reach out to see how other organizations are approaching this. For those using prioritization scoring as part of intake, governance, or ICP/capacity planning discussions:What scoring categories are you currently using? What percentage weighting have you assigned to each category? Have you found certain categories to be more important in healthcare environments (ex: patient safety, compliance, operational impact, strategic alignment, financial value, resource effort, etc.)? How are you handling regulatory or patient safety work in your scoring models? Are there any lessons learned or recommendations you would share before rolling out a prioritization framework enterprise-wide?We are trying to establish a strong baseline model and would appreciate hearing how other healthcare organizations have structured their scoring approaches and governan
Hi all,has anyone on the April 2026 version seen any issues with dataset management? We’re unable to edit one of our data set due to the following error: which seems a bit odd. When we download the .rsd file, the query is clearly there and the dataset refreshes fine for powerbi and other reports. Just wondering if anyone else has seen something similar in the Apr 2026 release.Best, Michal
Can someone point to the details around OKR OData refresh interval? Is it refreshed automatically or do we need to manually refresh the OData anywhere? [Not talking about Portfolios OData, this is only about OKR Odata]. ThanksSakthi.
Hello -We are utilizing the plan/scheduling feature in Planview portfolios without any timekeeping involved. We are currently developing internal training for our project managers and I’m trying to outline the simplest path toward managing their schedules. We are expecting them to enter a project schedule at the start of the project and then maintain actual start and end dates for their phases and milestones as they are completed. We have relatively simple template set up that include successors and predecessors so the scheduling part of the process cascades accordingly when running the schedule. What is confusing me is that when we enter actual finish dates on a phase, I’m expecting to see the schedule for the next phase to reflect the actual finish date. For example, if the phase finished early, then the next phase should start earlier and the whole schedule should reflect an early finish. If the phase ended late, then the whole schedule should be pushed back. Is there a way to adjust
Hello All, The financials for our requirements are disappearing when the daily job runs, causing our forecasts to be off. Is anyone else having issues with the financial forecast associated with requirements. The values for hours and FTEs remain but the financials disappear.
Is anyone having issue with the Automart refreshing? All of our dashboards are not refreshing. Jennifer
I have a task upload written using a SOAP call to the ITaskService3 service. I can get it to create new tasks, but it loads them like they are at the PPL level. They have the Work prefix that displays and no indent sign (see screenshot). I did some searching in the backend and it seems like the exec_type field is being set on these tasks even if I use the option not to copy missing values from Planview. Anyone else have this working and can maybe help?
Hey, all. I’m currently building the Project Manager persona view in Planview.Me and partnering closely with PMs across my organization to understand what visualizations, via the data visualization widget, would be most useful to them in their day-to-day work.Given the amount of available attributes, I’d love to tap into this community’s experience:Are there specific data visualization combinations that your PMs have found especially valuable or intuitive? Any home run visual setups that your PMs loved? Will be keeping insights at the work level, for now, but open to any type of chart available in the Data Visualization widget. Appreciate any examples or ideas!
