We have a group that would like to have a version of the My Active Lifecycle Steps tile that includes a column for Project Manager and one for Business Sponsor in addition to the current column that shows the person/role responsible for the step. Is this possible? Any guidance on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!Robin 

I’m interested to explore adding skills to our resource pools (ideally driven from information hosted in our central resource/training database, but not critical), exploiting the skills criteria for Requirements & Allocation but to also report on any skills hotspots through PowerBI reporting.Information on the best way to configure and use the Skills in Portfolios seems very limited - does anyone have experience of this and any best practice they can share?

Last year I raised a post about the use of the various inter-project dependency management options available in Planview - Successor/predecessor relationships in plans, investment dependencies, CRI logs, Roadmaps - the options are extensive but they all had their limitations.  If you really need to create a ‘hard link’ between milestones in 2 projects, you only had one option - use the successor/predecessor relationships in the plan & leverage the Inter Projects Dependencies tile, accepting that this approach could result in cascading plan changes across the entire portfolio.I’m pleased to say that the latest Logbook release has provided a much more controllable solution - the Multiple Associations finally allows me to create a dependency record in a log, use this to hold the dependency context and create a ‘contract’ with my dependent project PM and link key milestones from both project plans without the risk on plan changes automatically cascading onto other projects.

Hi AllRecently taken over Planview for my area and having a little bit of an odd issue.So we are trying to add some new columns to one of the Work Portfolio tiles and one is giving me some grief.Been able to add an alternate structure and a long text column without issue but trying to add a text field we have that has a 200 character limit is displayed a column with the right name but not pulling through any data into it.Notes I had been left behind say using the same code as long text would work but is clearly not doing it and wondering what the code needs to be.The attribute is as follows Code my instructions advise me to use is below which generates the column with

Hi everyone,I’m reaching out to ask whether anyone has experienced changes to system settings that caused OData queries to be limited to 50,000 rows.I recently ran into this issue in my environment—unexpectedly hitting a 50,000 row limit—despite previously being able to retrieve full datasets. After opening a support case, Customer Service resolved the issue on their end, but I still don’t have clarity on: Why it occurred in the first place, What was changed to fix it, And whether it could happen again. I’d be really interested to hear if anyone else has encountered similar behaviour and, if so, what you learned from your communications with Planview and/or what measures you’ve put in place to ensure continuity of complete OData retrieval.Thanks in advance for any insight the community can share!

We are evaluating the most cost effective way to manage our licenses so are currently defining an archive process based mostly on lack of use.  I’d also like to downgrade a Portfolio-R/W license to a View Only license if I could tell if the user has not made any data updates in the past three months or so.   Does anyone know a way to do this?We are also considering alternative solutions like report subscriptions to keep licensing costs down and wonder if others have pursued this or any other solutions?Thanks!

I have a request from business that for the fixed fees users we don’t want to allow then to enter time and nor they appear in the plan allocation dropdown/selection. What could be the potential solution to achieve these situation?For new fixed fee resource i will create only user profile and not the resource profile so that then cannot enter/book time. And i will assign then some role which is specifically just allow them to view Portfolio. What to do with those profiles which are already presnt in the system?

Dear Community, Has anyone else noticed anything strange when it comes to allocation details? Last year, one of our users reported that their name appeared in an allocation they couldn’t have created, they had no access to the resource or the project. After some analysis, we found out that the user wasn’t even logged into the system that day!We immediately opened a case with Customer Care, but so far, despite many attempts to prove that the issue is not on our side, we still don’t have a resolution and the data has been unreliable for more than a year!We even built a dataset from the allocation table to check for discrepancies between the created_by, requested_by, and approved_by columns. It turns out that in the requested_by column, there are cases where a person without the proper profile somehow managed to create a request for an allocation. They simply don’t have the right grants or role feature to perform the action.Customer Care suggested this

Hello, We are working on deploying a Release Planning Tool - likely Jira. We have all our resources deployed in Portfolios so we want to maintain an integration from Jira to Portfolios. We also have an older Code Repository - EWM, that has already been integrated to Portfolios but we are considering de-coupling it to keep the integration cleaner. Anyone have experience in this kind of integration / OCM? 

We’d like to see if others are interested in the functionality we’re hoping to have.  It would be very helpful to establish preset column set views by persona to improve the user experience. This customizes the view by each key person, removes unnecessary fields that are confusing to many users, minimizes initial setup, and removes the risk of losing set-up configurations tied to system cookies.  For example, currently we have team members customize their My Overview screen as part of their initial set up by unselecting unnecessary fields and reorder columns, but it would improve user experience if admins can preset them before their first time login.  Has anybody received feedback from end users like this before?    

We’ve submitted this as an idea to Continuous Improvement, but we’re curious if anybody in the community is interested or has received similar feedback from end users. We’re hoping to make it possible to save and share multiple different grouped views.  The column sets enable us to view predefined columns, but it doesn't allow us to include attributes that are used in "Group by".  For example, there are different groupings that enable an RM to properly review and act on their allocations for different purposes. It’s been very frustrating for our RMs and product managers to have to remember the different groupings and manually adjust it every time they want to a different view within the staffing screen.  This example is about the Staffing screen, but it would be great if we can create and share custom views which preselect both columns and attributes used to group by in the other screens as well such as Plan.

We’re reviewing our process for tracking project financials once a project is no longer active.  From a project manager’s perspective, how are other organizations capturing or reporting financial data (e.g., final costs, accruals, or ongoing expenses) after a project has been closed or set to inactive in Planview?

can we set up timesheet submission reminder notifications to the users like every Thursday EOD? 

In the Roadmaps tool, any configuration changes I’m making is no longer saving.  Has anyone experienced this?

I’m having an issue where a few projects are experiencing an issue with progression jobs changing their flags at the project level as well as the task level. After progression jobs run on Sunday night the project is changed back to Do Not Progress: Yes, when it was previously set as No. This happens only on a few projects. It also happens to a subset of tasks on these projects, but not all. The task will change back to Do Not Progress: Yes, when it was previously set as No. Has anyone been able to determine what might be causing this change to occur?

Hi Community, I have a question about best practices for planning and profiling requirements/assignments. PMs very often profile requirements in our projects. However, it sometimes happens that activities need to be extended. In such a situation, extending the activity by changing the Schedule Finish or directly extending the Duration causes the profiling set by the PM to be completely disrupted, as the system itself tries to adjust the data to the new end date. The PM would like it to remain as originally set and to be able to profile additional days/months manually. Is there any functionality that I am not aware of that allows this?

Dear Community, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has come across a similar challenge. We’re using Logbook data in several Power BI dashboards now. We also manage data quality across project, resource and logbook data. For project and resource datasets, we’ve built weekly trending snapshots showing how data quality changes over the last four weeks.Where we're struggling is the Logbook. The Logbook Quality dashboard itself works fine but since we can’t build our own dataset for Logbook (different OData connection and no DB access), all quality logic had to be built directly in Power BI. That means we currently don’t have a straightforward way to capture historical quality snapshots for Logbook items.Has anyone found a way to handle historical Logbook data quality or built something similar? Even a workaround or recommended approach would be really helpful.Thanks, Michal

I am trying to add new life cycle Model under Work. I can do that but It not including in existing lifecycle. Is here anything I am missing? I am creating Model with prefix a number (eg: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 etc). Can someone help?
