Hi,

PlanView AdaptiveWork - Creating report

I need to create a report that lists for a particular project:

-all project assignments by month

-all staffing requests (this includes named requests as well as those unnamed request by job titles) by month

I am able to create the project assignment project by month by using the objects - User Resources→ Capacity Time Phased Data (monthly)→ Labour Time Phased Data (monthly) but then clueless on how to get staffing requests including in this.

Looking for any advice on which objects to choose to create such a report or link to any tutorials on reporting.

Thanks

Hi,

To all future readers,

  • CROSSTAB format is also possible using the 2 objects mentioned above.
  • But there is restriction how things can be grouped and columns displayed.

Upon extraction to excel, some formatting is needed in my case which is still painful.

Hi Amit — apologies, this one slipped past the community earlier. Were you able to find an alternative, or are you still looking for suggestions?

Could you try this to show both Staffing montly data and Project Assignment data?

Hi ndasilva,

Thank you for your response. Really appreciate it.

I am not sure what’s the use of Labor Time Phased Data (Monthly) object. I was able to join the first 2 objects mentioned by you and following are my observations:

  1. Joining the first 2 objects provides staffing request as well as project assignments in one query in a LIST format so that was encouraging.
  2. CROSSTAB format is not possible-it doesn’t provide me all the fields I need, so LIST (or default) was the only option.
  3. Staffing requests are stored on a daily basis, project assignment on monthly basis. So, once I extract the data into excel, I need to do quite a bit of work to format and get the data I need.

Regards
