Permission inheritance for Action Items and Decisions does not work the same as with Cases (refer to setting 3.14) - and this seems like a defect. Ticket has been logged with Support (but also reaching out to the Community).
Use Case:
- User added to project permissions with View access
- Inheritance works as expected: user can see all Risks, Issues, cases associated to the project regardless of the Case creation date
- For Decisions and Action Items, user can only see new items created after the View access was granted.
- Only workaround is not much of a solution: Add the user as the Owner, or explicitly add as a Viewer via the Permissions for each individual Action Item or Decision
This is a large gap in functionality that I would expect Planview to either resolve as a break/fix type enhancement, or offer some packaged WF rule that synchronizes the permissions accordingly.
Are there any solutions or options here???
