Hi,

Do dynamic layouts override profile layouts? And where do views figure in this picture? What layout will the views take?

I also noticed while creating views that there are 5 options:

  1. one column layout
  2. two columns layout
  3. work plan layout
  4. resource planning layout
  5. financial planning layout

At the project level, I have tried creating views using the 5 layout options and realise that there are some default info in each of the layouts that I do not need. How do I change/ edit, say, the resource planning layout?

Any guidance will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Yes. Dynamic Layouts override profile layouts.

  • Layouts = Control fields inside work item details. e.g. Show only Priority, Status, and Description fields in work item details
  • Views = Control panels around the work item (Workplan, Resources, etc.) e.g. Display only the Workplan and Resources panels and hide cases, reviewers relations.

To Change default Fields (Layouts) at profile level:

  1. Go to Layout Settings
  2. Select Profile Layout
  3. Add, remove, or rearrange fields as needed
  4. This changes what information appears in the work item details

To Change Panels (Views):

  1. Go to View Settings
  2. Show or hide panels based on your needs
  3. Example: Keep only "Workplan" and "Resources" panels visible, and minimise others
  4. Note: You need editor access to modify view settings
