Here are the current choices for "Exception Types" that we see in AdaptiveWork and would like to edit (to match our actual time-off reporting system).

Is this list configurable? :

I thought it might come from the “Resource Utilization Category” picklist mentioned in another topic but it doesn’t seem to be related to that Work Item property (which IS customizable).

Hi Jamie,

I am happy to help!

It does not appear that ‘Exception Type’ can be updated via the ‘Configurations’ tab, so I went the route of using the Data Loader application: https://www.planview.com/products-solutions/products/adaptivework/data-loader/

Just in case you aren’t familiar with this application, here are additional Success Articles that will walk you through the steps of using it.

I opened Data Loader, went to the Pick Lists header and located Exception Type:

I downloaded the template as my starting point:

This is what the template looks like:

Make sure to add ‘ExternalId’ (no spaces!) as a column to the template as recommended in the Success Article:

Here is what my TEST template looked like (you can use additional columns, but I just went with these for the sake of this demonstration:

Upload your prepared excel file into Data Loader and complete the Load. Then validate:

Hope this helps!

Fantastic Mikayla! 😃

I am familiar with the Data Loader but it didn’t occur to me to use it for editing Picklists that can’t be accessed in the UI… Brilliant!🌠

Thanks for all the “how to” detail, too. Extra gold star for you! 😉 💫
