I would like to mark overdue task target dates in red font in a project status report. I created a calculated field of type=Date and used HTML tags to mark it in red if the date is past today.

However, that didn’t work and Planview support said the Date type doesn’t support HTML and to use String type instead. However, when I do that, the date gets marked in red font as desired, but I lose the ability to sort by date, which is not acceptable.

Has anyone found a way to accomplish what I need?

Do you mean to mark those overdue tasks within the application or outside?

Within the application you can use the conditional formatting that allows you to mark the relevant tasks accordingly (click the arrow in the header line and set up the conditions for formatting).
