How to copy Action Items from project template ?

Hello,

Is there a way to import action items from a project template when creating a new project ?
Files are copied over but not action items. Is there a workaround ?

AdaptiveWork doesn't automatically copy action items from templates to new projects - only structure and fields transfer. As a workaround, use the "Quick Tasks and Action Items Import App" to bulk import action items. Access it via:

Menu > Custom Actions > Quick Tasks Import
Project Work Plan > Custom Action > Quick Task Import
Add Related link > Action Items

I haven’t tried your solution but was able to find a workaround for this. That being said, i do not have access to this app i think.

I’ve downloaded and installed the app.
I see it will require a lot ofmanual copy/paste activities for each project creation so would not work for this use case but does seem handy anyhow.
With a workflow rule, i am able to automatically create all my action items in the project milestones when in the template they are set as tasks.
Seems a little odd but it works. The only problem is my “Parent Project” field is not populated by doing this.
