Our resources are located all over the world and as a Project / Program Manager we need to be able to see in Portfolios when the resource and project calendars misalign.  We are looking to create an alert or flag to notify them when there is such a discrepancy that requires their intervention.   When searching CSC, I have not been able to locate articles or suggestions on how we can supply them with that without using “AdaptiveWork” which is not in the budget.

Yes, AdaptiveWork provides built-in features to automatically detect and alert you to calendar misalignments, scheduling conflicts, and resource availability issues between resource and project calendars.

Here’s how it works:

  • Automated Alerts: AdaptiveWork automatically generates alerts when work items pose a scheduling conflict, such as misalignment between resource and project calendars, work items past due date, or when resources are unavailable. These alerts appear in the Masthead Alerts menu, where the last five alerts are shown and you can manually resolve any of them. Additionally, you can see all current alerts in the dedicated Alerts module. 

  • Conflict Indicators: Scheduling conflicts are visually indicated by a calendar icon in relevant views. If dates are set in a way that creates a misalignment (e.g., the manually set start or due dates of a work item do not align with connected or parent items, or with resource availability), AdaptiveWork marks these fields with a conflict indicator. This ensures that project and program managers are notified of discrepancies requiring intervention.
