I'm trying to use AgilePlace to visualize lifecycle flow of digital products (applications) stored in Outcomes structure in Planview Portfolios.

My idea was to use Portfolios connector in Planview Hub, however this connector doesn't support Outcomes.

Do you know if Outcomes structure elements can be exposed from Portfolios in any way to synchronize Outcomes from Portfolios with cards in AgilePlace?

Hi @rafal.likitarczuk,

Right now, Planview Hub mainly supports entities from the Work Structure and will support Strategy structure in the near future. We typically recommend integrating Work entities (e.g. Features, Epics, etc.). We typically recommend representing Product Portfolios, Value Streams, and Products on the outcome structure which doesn’t normally get passed to other systems. You can associate work structure entities at PPL to the outcome structure.

Thank you,

Joe

Hi @Joe Liu

I understand the need to integrate Works structure and then Strategy structure as most common ones. However I have visualized lifecycle of our business applications as a Kanban board in AgilePlace. Even the flow of the cards is not that fast, it was well received by audience to have a graphical preresentation of portfolio from lifecycle perspective. It also helps me to follow-up emerging and decommissioning (Intake & Outtake) applications and corresponding steps during this process.
I have started with manual replication of some data from Portfolios to AgilePlace and vice versa, but also exploring a way to sunchronize that together, either nativly, via Hub or any other way.

Here is a tengible example:

Are you able to guide me and pointing some integration possibilities?

I'm also working with transformation of our existing project and application portfolios into product oriented and strategic portfolio management.
I'm looking for some good examples how to use Strategy, Work and Outcome structures in a right way.
Could you reccmmend me any guidelines and person to support our organization in that? We are existing Planview customer.

Hi @rafal.likitarczuk, I see what you are trying to do, you are trying to represent the lifecycle of your products / applications. Have you explored our Planview Enterprise Architecture capabilities? It allows you to manage your applications more effectively. If interested, please reach out to your Account Lead and we will be able to get you a demo to see if it meets your needs!

Correct, it is applications lifecycle represented in a kind of kabnan flow, as I need to plan and follow-up some related work with newly registered or close to end of lifecycle applications.

All our application portfolios is stored in Planview Portfolios - Outcome structure, that's why I'm lookig for some way to synchronize Outcomes from Portfolio with AgilePlace to not manually duplicate information.

I'm aware about Planview Enterprise Architecture capabilities and actually our organization is looking for new tool to replace existing one. Planview is also on the list to consider.
