We have a user that was canceling a work item.  A pop up warning appeared saying “Confirm update - work status to completed”.  We assumed it would say “Confirm update - work status to canceled”.  Can we change the warning message or is it working as designed or do we need to open a PV support case?

@dmilam - this is a standard message and not driven by the status selected.  You could utilize Configurable Text to update the message so that is states “Completed/Canceled”. This would be a change for all users for all statuses that this appears for.

If you are unsure of how to do this here are my suggestions, as an Admin:

  1. Go into the browser settings and add the Language “isiZulu”
    1. By turning on this language in your browser you can then see the system tag for that specific message
  2. Go into a sandbox, or production, and perform the actions to trigger the message
  3. Copy the system tag for that message (or anything else in the system you’d like to tweak the wording on.
  4. Go to Administration > System Configuration > System Options > Configurable Text

  5. Paste in the tag in the top box and hit enter
  6. You will see the tag and in a box below you will see the wording. Make any changes you would like in this box.
  7. Click off and you will see your changes (green for words added, red for any words you removed)
  8. You can then remove the language from your browser

Hope this helps.  We have used this a few times across the application to control the message that pop-up, especially some within the timesheet.

Note: These changes do carry over through upgrades, although we usually validate that during our upgrade testing to be sure. :)

Pam Sargent
