You can set this up in Planview Portfolios by leveraging email notification settings.
You can use the following resources to guide your setup:

These will walk you through enabling notifications and ensuring they’re sent to the correct approvers based on reporting relationships.
Some additional information:
- You can set up the system to send emails to users when resources they manage (they have R/W and Approve Time permissions directly to the resource or one level above the resource) submit a timesheet. This is described in the above.
- In addition, a user can configure some personal notification settings using the “Timesheets for Resources Need Approval” settings available on Personal Preferences > Notifications > Needs Approval > Timesheets for Resources need Approval
