Hi - we have our servers in the UK and have noticed horrible performance using Planview Portfolios. Anyone else suffering?

We’re on the Frankfurt server and have not noticed any issues.

Hello Jennifer and Whit!

Whit, glad you are not noticing any issues. :)

Jennifer, we’ve begun the triage process on this and will update your group through the related Care case. In addition to working on this specifically, we’ve had a number of updates over the last few months, in the upcoming November release, and more in the future. Our recurring monthly Planview Enterprise customer webinar (one happening tomorrow) is the best place to learn about those as they are coming up.

Best regards,

Sherrill

Yes, we are experiencing similar issues with Planview Portfolios! We opened a case that ended up being split into several smaller ones but it seems like the only thing the customer support team is checking are CPU spikes. For a SaaS application, this approach is not sufficient at all. Despite providing numerous pieces of evidence, including links, traces, and HAR files, we have yet to receive a concrete response or a clear outline of the criteria the team uses to determine whether something qualifies as a performance issue.

Additionally, I came across this article that provides tips on minimising performance issue occurrences: https://success.planview.com/Planview_Portfolios/Administration/011_Administration_Business_Processes/Considerations_for_Usage_and_Performance
It might be helpful!

Hi @mserafinowski , happy to meet to discuss and look into your issues if you would like to do so, please email me at spackebush@planview.com. Thank you very much for posting the link to that Customer Success Center article on performance tips, as configuration, display options, and other factors all contribute to why a view loads at a certain speed. As we are making performance improvements and learning we also are updating that page (for example, I have a note to include info on how integrations may impact performance that we need to add to it). Cheers, Sherrill

Yep, we still have a lot if issues with Planview Portfolio performances… We are also on the UK London server…

Some of our work items plan takes over a minute to load the screen 😱(on corporate Fibreto the premises access).
I have a “CTO Team” Work item used by our CTO and his teams and he can’t use it as he rightly doesn’t want to wait a minute for it to load… Also, as soon as you make a tiny change on the screen, it reload (hence wait another minute!) this is crazy!
No sure he will sign the renewal PO next year !!!

Many PMs are also complaining on performance and slow load times to the point of becoming unusable!
They are moving to alternative tools hence Portfolio adoption is worse and worse...

I have a ticket currently open (with video evidence) and have been told the usual (clear the browser cache !!! and reset IIS), which are the first 2 things I tried before the ticket !!!

If anyone has any updates on this, please share. Thank you.

Hi @Happytoon -- please feel free to send a note over to me (espeterson@planview.com) and we can look over the performance issues you're describing. Also, if you could include the Care case ticket number I can follow-up on that. As part of our performance issue triage process, our Customer Care team does make sure to rule out any of the usual issues before we pull more people in.

In terms of updates, we’ve continued to make monthly performance-related improvements and continue to do so. For these, the important point is to remain on recent versions of Portfolios, so that may be an option to get some improvement in the near term. We can get into more potential solutions if you reach out.

Thank you!

Erik
