Does time entry require resource to have read write access to their resource record?

In our resource management process (because resource has RW access to their own resource record), that resrouce is able to modify their utilization for each project they are allocated.  Our desire is that only the supevisor (resource manager) should be able to modify these allocations.  

Any inputs or suggestions in Customer Solution Center are appreciated.

Hello ​@rzb1qs a resource does not need R/W permission to their resource profile in order to track time, however be aware that without this permission they cannot navigate to the Staffing Screen, which include the My Assignments tile, or any widget/tile report that is focused on their information.  

Options for you may be to remove the Contributor Estimate from the timesheet (if not done already) and ensure they do not have R/W permissions to any work.

Pam…  Another question…  When I attempted to configure a user from RW to RO on their resouce record, the system no longer allows for Report Time and Expense option.

Leading me to believe that I probably did not understand your response.

​@rzb1qs - what we have found is if we just delete the permission completely the resource is still able to track time but not have access to do anything else against his resource profile. So you may just try deleting it completely. It will be good for you to then log in as that resource in your sandbox and get familiar with what they can and can’t do without that permission.
