Sometimes when we create a new project using the template of the previous project, I want to keep the task schedules (resources scheduled to the tasks) on the new project to avoid the team having to re-schedule resources for similar projects.

However, I have noticed that the only people who are copied over successfully upon creation of the new project are people are are assigned a role on the Staffing tab.

This team does not use the staffing tab/utilization planning features. Is there a workaround to get the resources to copy over, or would I have to go in and assign roles to all of the “no role” resources on the template project?

When using the template to create a new project did you ensure these were checked?  Have you tried copying the tasks from the Template project to the desination project?

Yes, I copy over all of the template elements except the alerts.

All of the tasks and team members come over fine, it’s just that the scheduled resources on the tasks are blank or only with 1-2 of the many resources scheduled on the source/template project.

I’ve tried making sure everyone is staffed to a specific role on the Staffing tab as well and that does not seem to impact it. .
