We need to track changes to Scheduled Finish dates. I’d like it to be a field tracked in the History. Currently I have to frequently extract the data to an Excel spreadsheet and analyze it there. It would be helpful if I could export ALL history data to Excel.

Hi @dianerockwell ,

Thank you for your query about tracking changes to Scheduled Finish Dates in Planview Portfolios.

We understand the importance of monitoring these changes and the challenges of manual data extraction for analysis.

While Planview Portfolios doesn't currently offer built-in history tracking for individual date fields within the project plan, the product team suggests a few solutions:

1. Baselines:

  • This is a best practice for capturing snapshots of your project plan at specific points in time.
  • By comparing the baseline with your current plan, you can easily identify deviations in Scheduled Finish Dates.

2. Milestone Trend Report (WRK35):

  • This report provides a visual representation of how a specific milestone's Scheduled Finish Date has changed over time.
  • You can use this report to analyze trends and identify significant changes without needing detailed field history.

Additional Considerations:

  • You can submit a feature request for field-level history tracking through the Continuous Enhancement Campaign https://e1.spigit.com/e1prmcontinuous. This can help influence future product development.

@dianerockwell - curious, are you talking about just the finish dates within the project plan or scheduled dates on resource assignments?
