Question for the community: How did you measure and celebrate success for your Planview implementation?

As we approach the end of the year, many teams are reviewing their performance, logging lessons learned, and planning their priorities for next year. They might also be looking for new goals and some motivation to meet the expectations. So as you tackle all of those to-do lists this holiday season, don’t forget about the impact you can make on your team with through Reinforcement and Recognition

ADKAR®️ is simply an acronym for Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement. This model by Prosci is based on the idea that Individual success leads to organizational success, because there is one common denominator in every change…and that is PEOPLE!

By understanding the stages individuals go through during change and you will be better prepared to support them effectively. What’s great about ADKAR®️ is that each phase is a “building block.” All together they create a strong foundation for successful change, but we can’t successfully change until we have gone through each phase.

At Planview, we love adding an extra R at the end of ADKAR®️ for Recognition - a step beyond Reinforcement.  I think at our core, we all want to be appreciated at the end of the day. It’s easy to forget at the end of a big product launch or after a long transformational project, but People want to CELEBRATE and, from my experience, they are more likely to think back positively on the experience when recognition is involved.

Utilizing ADKAR®️ will help you lead change more effectively and build a culture that embraces transformation. I love when I have the opportunity to get creative with our clients to bring this piece to life. One of my favorites was a badge program to recognize their Change Champions. After completing the assigned training, they earned a specially designed badge for their e-mail signature to share their expertise and new role. Soon, everyone wondered where those badges came from and wanted one of their own!

Recognize achievements of those who are embracing change, bring JOY to others, and success will follow!

Cheers,

Recognize and celebrate, so true and very important!

Love the additional R!

By recognizing people,  I see 2 benefits:

  1. By acknowledging their good work, you are encouraging them and setting a precedence to the behaviour - likely to repeat
  1.  It creates a ripple effect and encourages others to follow
