Planview AdaptiveWork missing timesheets as of 5PM Friday

Hi Community!Very new Planview AdaptiveWork user here, so thanks in advance for your patience with me. I am hoping someone could provide very detailed insights on how to create a report that would list all missing timesheets as of 5PM (as an example) each Friday. We have timesheet reports, but haven’t been able to narrow in on this specific use case related to timesheet compliance. Thanks in advance for any and all guidance - the more detailed, the better :)

Custom fields on time-phase Labor Resources

I have introduced a custom currency field on Time-Phase Labour Resources with a workflow to update it when needed. The updated value does appear against the individual work-item in the Financial Planning View (following refresh of the financial data), and sometimes it appears correctly in the summary view, however sometimes it does not get picked up into the rolled-up number.My questions are : Can anyone let me know what triggers custom fields on Labor Resources Time Phase to be updated into the summary view? How are people handling custom fields on Time Phase Labor Resources if they cannot be trusted to always roll up in terms of presenting the information to users? Thanks

Order of column set rows and column set assignment to a tile

I’ve been doing alot of configuring of tiles and creating some new column sets to go along with them. I am finding that sometimes the column set specified in the tile definition doesn’t end up be the one shown. Similarly, I find if I have a personal column set defined with a specified order of columns, if I change the order of columns directly in the view that the column set often will not go back to the original order of the columns in the column set as it was originally specified. I am wondering if this is a caching sort of issue? Has anyone experienced this and/or have advice about how to manage? Thanks!

What is your favorite practice, or a common practice you use for improving Flow/delivery?

My favorite is simply daily “focus”. Swarming as a team on the highest priority item. I think it is because I find a lot of joy in working together to solve challenges on a high performing team. There is clarity on what is important, a shared objective. It is much more fulfilling to me then starting a lot of work and feeling frantic, not being able to complete it, seeing the work age gives me some stress. Do you have a favorite improvement practice, whether daily, each sprint, ad-hoc, quarterly or otherwise? I would love to hear!

ProjectPlace - Portfolios Sync

A couple of weeks ago, somebody managed to switch off the ‘Use ProjectPlace’ global setting which supports the syncing of PP cards with Portfolios (we’re still trying to work out how this happened...)That’s left us with 2 weeks worth of card updates which haven’t flowed through to Portfolios. Many of these cards are now closed so will never be touched again.Does anyone know - Is there a way to force-sync ProjectPlace cards to update Portfolios actions?

How to move finances in time according to how the dates of the schedule move

I am contacting you to request clarification on the behavior of the movement of the finances recorded and associated with the activities of the project schedule as the start and/or due dates of the activities, milestones and projects are modified. Currently, the financial items that move with the project are those associated with the resources selected in the schedule as responsible for a certain task and that have a cost or billing rate. On the other hand, the NLR are not updated with the dates of the schedule, so it must be done manually. With this situation in mind, we are seeking to configure the system so that the finances related to the NLR also move according to the dates that can be modified in the activities, milestones and projects.

Mass upload of users to Portfolios using UI Path

Good Afternoon:When using development to massively load UI PATH users in the Ecopetrol Production environment, an error is occurring since it is not connecting to the browser as shown below: The instructions indicated directly on the portal https://success.planview.com/Planview_Portfolios/Fundamentals/Robotic_Process_Automation_(RPA)_Robot are followed, however it is not possible for the loading to be executed which can significantly optimize times. . user creation.

Hybrid Work View / Classic View - Switching between the two

Hello,Is there a way to make a more seamless transition between the ‘Classic’ view & ‘Hybrid’ view without relying on the blue banner to make the switch? Currently our users spend most of their time in the ‘Classic’ view, but need to switch to ‘Hybrid’ view from time to time to use the Board and now Whiteboard. Ideally we would like to make a custom panel with some buttons in Classic view to navigate them to the correct sections of the ‘Hybrid’ view to make it more seamless + when we share a Board, they are often in the ‘Classic’ view and forget to switch to the ‘Hybrid’ view resulting in additional support reminding them to use the blue banner to switch over.Just wondering if anyone has had any luck to maybe setup a more seamless transition between ‘Classic’ & ‘Hybrid’ without fully relying on the blue banner to make the transition. Job Stream Scheduling Service Shutting down intermittently

Over the last month, our Job Stream service has shut down twice over the weekend and not come back on. This is not accompanied by any error messages. This occurred first overnight August 3rd-4th, and most recently the night of August 28th-29th. Both times we’ve had to submit a Customer Care ticket to get the job schedule service back up and running. My questions are:Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to prevent it? Is there a way to restart the service on our own?

How do you handle FTEs less than 1.0?

The only way I have been able to create capacity less than 1.0 for users is by creating calendars in sub-groups. My org is large and we have many many non 1.0 employees, and at varying %FTEs. How have you handled this at large? I can’t manually keep up with it every week...

What Sets Default Work Portfolio?

I am wondering what sets the default Work Portfolio. No matter what the last Work Portfolio I view, when I come back into Work, this one Work Portfolio always comes up. I no longer care about it so i guess I can delete it but I’m wondering what is causing it to always be my default.

Rolled Up Action Items Report

Does anyone have any experience with creating a report in AdaptiveWork to roll up Action Items that are nested and attached to children work items. For example we have a program and are trying to create a report to aggregate any action item that is attached to any Project, Milestone or task nested under the program. We would also like to do the same type of report for Risks, Issues and Decisions as well eventually.

Strategy Planning - Forward view of resource impacts

Each year we run a cycle of annual planning, looking forward to the next 3 years or so, assessing existing and new candidate strategies and allocating budgets - an iterative approach which can take some months to complete, balancing off the ambition vs the budget. But this isn’t just about balancing the budget - Part of this exercise focuses on the resource capacity to manage the change, and whilst this should play a critical part in sequencing and ‘doability’ planning, we're finding this difficult to perform within Planview & keen to understand how others take resource capacity into account. I assume we could make use of the functionality on ICP, but to do this, we’d need to spec out all candidate projects - using planning best practice that would mean building representative WBS's for everything, even when solutions are unclear, then creating the requirements against the WBS. Alternatively we can come up with some resource planning line for the duration of the delivery and raise

Isolation the TE task Line from all other scheduled tasks

I have a unique need to setup the TE Line(s) for our engineering community is a way that once Requirements are set to that TE Line NOTHING (except for the project manager updating) modifies the Start and End dates. I fully understand that this is not how the system is designed, and again stress this is a unique situation that I am looking for advice / “work around”. Inputs and recommendations are very much appreciated.

Can anyone share example of validation rule to restrict milestone/ task completion if the executable field is false. I can see my first milestone is executable but my validation rule is throwing error to complete this as well.
