Hello,We’re beginning our journey using Portfolios’ Rest API.While pretty straightforward in its use, there is one undocumented option that we are struggling with.Using the Work endpoint API, the /public-api/v1/work query has a ‘filters’ parameter that does not have more extended syntax documentation than what we found on the Success Center The single provided example for a work item (that is, a task below PPM) is: project.Id .eq 1906This is a little odd because when looking at the project data type, there is no Id attribute, instead we’d usually use projet.structureCode or project.shortNameWe tried applying a similar filter on those attributes but always got a HTTP 400 Bad Request response. Is someone aware of a more detailed documentation on the API system used by Portfolios that would describe the filter syntax used here? Or is there a specific Portfolios API documentation available somewhere (maybe from the inner circle group)? Thanks in advance and have a nice end of week.

I’m sure most people are aware of the enhancement request campaign in IdeaPlace for Portfolios. Curious how often do most go out and review what has been submitted or recently updated?  There are a lot of great ideas out there, but in order to get them pushed up the Product team’s priority list we need to ensure we are voting on ones we feel are important to how our companies use the tool. I, personally, review the list at least twice a month so I can be sure to know what others are asking for to help push the votes of on the ones I feel are most beneficial to how we use the tool. Link to the campaign: https://e1.spigit.com/e1prmcontinuous/Page/ViewIdeas When I review the list I tend to sort it by “Modified” so I can see the ones that have been updated recently.  Sometimes I’ll also switch my sort over to “Posted” to ensure I see any recently posted ones as well. This helps if older ones have had recent updates, which push the newly posted ones down the list.What are some of your best

Often when I do an analysis for customers, I find that less than 10% of the work that is currently in progress (work that has been started and not yet completed) is the priority (strategic, linked to improving the desired business results/OKRs).I find that because there is a prioritized backlog per team, with separate priorities per team, or teams working on different priority features that lower priority work is often focused on at the expense of higher priority work.This is very different from the original scrum notion of a single ordered product backlog where the available capacity swarms around the highest priority item(s), making sure any priority work that gets blocked gets unblocked rather than instead pulling in lower priority work to make sure everyone “stays busy”. What are some tips or tricks that you use to ensure your team is working on the highest priority, value add work? Some practices that I see used that come to mind include:Ensuring the desired, measurable business r

When adding a note to a request (i.e. from the Project staffing screen) is the designated staffer notified via email?  and when the designated staffer reply’s back - is the project manager getting an email?  We are not seeing where this would happen.

We were in the process of testing mobile access to portfolios in our sandbox environment. After the update last night, the option is gone to enable it and we can no longer access it. Does anyone know what happened to it? I looked through the October release slides and did not see any information about it. 

We were recently asked what are archiving process was and we were not sure why/when archiving makes sense?   Does anyone have suggestions about what archiving criteria should be for projects and what the frequency should be?

We have email notifications enabled in Planview, but currently only for timesheet users. This is because the overdue timesheet notification is also sent to people who aren’t timesheet users but have a resource associated with their account.We’d like to enable other notifications as well, but unfortunately, Planview once again proves to have very limited options in this area, as notifications cannot be configured based on roles.One workaround we’ve considered is setting up automatic timesheets for users who are not timesheet users but have a resource assigned to them. However, this feels like yet another awkward workaround.We’re curious if anyone has a better idea or uses custom notifications (if those even make sense in this context). Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated!

We update our test environment to version May 2024 so we could start testing out Planview.Me & Planview Admin. I looked in the success center on how to enable it but can’t find anything. I also tried logging into https://id.planview.com but I am having no luck by resetting my password or using my credentials. Do I need to create a new ticket so this can be enabled? Hi Community,I have a report which is expected to be run via a button on a view of the project - the button (which is a custom URL field) passes in the Project name to an action which generates the report - see bottom of this email for how this works.My problem is that occasionally, the more enthusiastic users try editing the filters on the report so generated to see the data in a different way. Unfortunately, if they remove the filter, running the report via the button causes an error as their instance of the report is not expecting the field which is passed in. As an Admin, is there any way to reset the filters on user’s instance of a report remotely? Hello Community, I am trying to build a custom PPR that will send an docx report of a Project. Within the PPR template, there are some fields that I want to generate based on intake form variables I create within the custom action of the PPR. I know this can be done by creating custom fields and populating the variables within the fields but I do not want to use the custom field quota as its about 5 custom fields I would need. Is it possible to generate variables as part of the PPR intake form and pass them to the docx. If so, what is the comment reference format required within the PPR template? Here is an example of what I am using to generate the Doc Publisher but the variables in red and bold below are not populating. However, the File Name below in green, which uses variables from the custom action does work. I am certain my syntax in the template file are simply incorrect. Hello, good morning,If we manage rates by Job title in the system, we have seen that changing the job title modifies the project rates in the past, present and future.Is there any parameterization that allows the project finances to be maintained with the rates of the job titles that the resources had associated at some point?If the client changes the resource's Job title, what would be the best practice to rate the projects so that this situation does not affect the finances of previous periods in which the resource had another job title? RegardsJhon

When using the ‘replace resource’ function, we note the individual being replaced is automatically set to 100% and marked as an ‘inactive human resource’. However, we wanted to reinstate them on a project as staffing arrangements had changed, but we couldn’t do this. We had thought an Administrator might be able to override the default setting to 100% or that the individual themselves could override this but neither was successful. How do we reinstate them to tasks or projects where they have previously been replaced using the replace resource function?

Hello PV community,I’m in need of some advice to create a report that shows resources actual timesheets vs. their project assessments.I started off with creating a report with the structure below, but when I run it, it shows the actual approved time as blank...even though I’ve check that there are in fact Approved Time to the listed projects.Any advice on creating such a report or what I may be doing wrong? Hi -I generated a read-only widget link to a project and set it to never expire, but now wish to cancel it. How can I do this?  Where can I manage the access links?

We have had a few requests lately where a leader wants to see all the projects of a certain criteria - for example:  every project using Artificial Intelligence or every project with compliance components.  These projects could be across the whole enterprise.   So far, we have been creating a new attribute on the project to enable this grouping via a portfolio.  We are wondering if there is any other way to do this?   The concern is that we will end up with quite a list of these types of attributes at the rate we are going.   Thanks

After getting an insufficient response through Customer Case, I thought I’d ask here.   When someone tries the PV link and doesn’t have access, the error received says:“To request access to Planview, Please log a Help Desk incident.  In the incident description, please include the following words:  Please task this incident to the Planview support team. Your request will be forwarded to your manager and the Planview Administrator for approval.”   I am wondering if this is the message all customers have displayed when access hasn’t been created yet?  This message doesn’t really apply to our processes so would like to change it but were told it is not possible to change.  This doesn’t make sense.Thanks .
