I have a request from business that for the fixed fees users we donβt want to allow then to enter time and nor they appear in the plan allocation dropdown/selection.Β What could be the potential solution to achieve these situation? For new fixed fee resource i will create only user profile and not the resource profile so that then cannot enter/book time. And i will assign then some role which is specifically just allow them to view Portfolio.Β What to do with those profiles which are already presnt in the system?
Dear Community,Β Has anyone else noticed anything strange when it comes to allocation details? Last year, one of our users reported that their name appeared in an allocation they couldnβt have created,Β they had no access to the resource or the project. After some analysis, we found out that the user wasnβt even logged into the system that day!We immediately opened a case with Customer Care, but so far,Β despite many attempts to prove that the issue is not on our side,Β we still donβt have a resolutionΒ and the data has been unreliable for more than a year!We even built a dataset from the allocation table to check for discrepancies between the created_by, requested_by, and approved_by columns. It turns out that in the requested_by column, there are cases where a person without the proper profile somehow managed to create a request for an allocation. They simply donβt have the right grants or role feature to perform the action.Customer Care suggested this might be related to copying project
Hello, We are working on deploying a Release Planning Tool - likely Jira.Β We have all our resources deployed in Portfolios so we want to maintain an integration from Jira to Portfolios.Β We also have an older Code Repository - EWM, that has already been integrated to Portfolios but we are considering de-coupling it to keep the integration cleaner.Β Anyone have experience in this kind of integration / OCM?Β
Weβd like to see if others are interested in the functionality weβre hoping to have.Β Β It would be very helpful to establish preset column set views by persona to improve the user experience. This customizes the view by each key person, removes unnecessary fields that are confusing to many users, minimizes initial setup, and removes the risk of losing set-up configurations tied to system cookies.Β For example, currently we have team members customizeΒ their My Overview screen as part of their initial set up by unselecting unnecessary fields and reorder columns, but it would improve user experience if admins can preset them before their first time login.Β Has anybody received feedback from end users like this before?Β Β Β Β
Weβve submitted this as an idea to Continuous Improvement, but weβre curious if anybody in the community is interested or has received similar feedback from end users.Β Weβre hoping to make it possible to save and share multiple different grouped views.Β The column sets enable us to view predefined columns, but it doesn't allow us to include attributes that are used in "Group by".Β For example, there are different groupings that enable an RM to properly review and act on their allocations for different purposes. Itβs been very frustrating for our RMs and product managers to have to remember the different groupings and manually adjust it every time they want to a different view within the staffing screen.Β This example is about the Staffing screen, but it would be great if we can create and share custom views which preselect both columns and attributes used to group by in the other screens as well such as Plan.Β Β

Weβre reviewing our process for tracking project financials once a project is no longer active.Β From a project managerβs perspective, how are other organizations capturing or reporting financial data (e.g., final costs, accruals, or ongoing expenses) after a project has been closed or set to inactive in Planview?
can we set up timesheet submission reminder notifications to the users like every Thursday EOD?Β
In the RoadmapsΒ tool, any configuration changes Iβm making is no longer saving.Β Has anyone experienced this?
Iβm having an issue where a few projects are experiencing an issue with progression jobs changing their flags at the project level as well as the task level. After progression jobs run on Sunday night the project is changed back to Do Not Progress: Yes, when it was previously set as No. This happens only on a few projects.Β It also happens to a subset of tasks on these projects, but not all. The task will change back to Do Not Progress: Yes,Β when it was previously set as No.Β Has anyone been able to determine what might be causing this change to occur?

Hi Community, I have a question about best practices for planning and profiling requirements/assignments. PMs very often profile requirements in our projects. However, it sometimes happens that activities need to be extended. In such a situation, extending the activity by changing the Schedule Finish or directly extending the Duration causes the profiling set by the PM to be completely disrupted, as the system itself tries to adjust the data to the new end date. The PM would like it to remain as originally set and to be able to profile additional days/months manually. Is there any functionality that I am not aware of that allows this?Β
Hi everyone,I am looking for guidance on the native options inside Planview for calculating: CPI (Cost Performance Index) SPI (Schedule Performance Index) We are using Earned Value management within Planview, and we already have access to: Earned Value (EV) β predefined attribute Planned Value (PV) Actual Costs to Date Before choosing an approach, I would like to understand:1. Which Planview features can be used to calculate CPI and SPI internally? For example: Calculated Attributes Subtotal Attributes Custom Fields Scripted Dialogs (accumulator-based) Any other built-in EV configuration options Β 2. Are EV, PV, and Actual Cost fields available for use in those features?Or are there structure/visibility restrictions that prevent them from appearing in calculated fields or scripted dialog operands?Β 3. If other customers have implemented CPI or SPI within Planview (not external BI tools), which approach worked best in practice?Β 4. Are there any limitations or prerequisites (e
Dear Community,Β Iβm reaching out to see if anyone has come across a similar challenge. Weβre using Logbook data in several Power BI dashboards now. We also manage data quality across project, resourceΒ and logbook data. For project and resource datasets, weβve built weekly trending snapshots showing how data quality changes over the last four weeks.Where we're struggling is the Logbook. The Logbook Quality dashboard itself works fine but since we canβt build our own dataset for Logbook (different OData connection and no DB access), all quality logic had to be built directly in Power BI. That means we currently donβt have a straightforward way to capture historical quality snapshots for Logbook items.Has anyone found a way to handle historical Logbook data qualityΒ or built something similar? Even a workaround or recommended approach would be really helpful. Thanks,Β MichalΒ

I am trying to add new life cycle Model under Work. I can do that but It not including in existing lifecycle. Is here anything I am missing? I am creating Model with prefix a number (eg: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 etc). Can someone help?
In a previous version of Planview Portfolios, we could open a Work entity and simply click the βexpandβ arrow beside the Work Breakdown Structure section in the Work Detail tile to see where the entity was located within the primary work structure:Work Detail Tile - Work Breakdown Structure section expandedIn the latest version of Planview Portfolios, Iβm trying to find that same information while in Work View. When I asked my administrator, they suggested a workaround: navigate to Work > Show All Work, search for the specific work item, and then click the hierarchy icon to view the full WBS path. This method works, but it requires several extra steps compared to the previous version, where the information was readily accessible with a single click. Is there a more efficient way to view the WBS location of a work entity in the current version?

I recently finished updating a report that has a tile. A subscription that was set with the old report still goes out as the old report even though the tile had been updated with the new report. We had to go and remove all the subscriptions that were set prior to updating that report.Β
Have you had recent problems with PowerBI reporting using Logbook data?We successfully launched Logbooks back in March for 3 βlight touchβ areas (Lessons Learned, Actions and Decisions) as a test & learn exercise before we tackled a more challenging transition for Risks, Issues, etc.We successfully built a Lessons Learned PowerBI dashboard using the OData links to a specific Log type, splicing the data with the Strategy information to produce outputs for each of our strategic areas of focus, much to the delight of of our user community. Then on 8 September the PBI reports just stopped refreshing.Β Nothing had changed on either the Logbooks side, the PBI side or any of the associated strategy data. This was reported immediately but 6 weeks later we are no closer to identifying what the issue is or why the.Β Apparently thereβs some failure to connect. New Auth tokens make no difference. Attempting simple connections to the raw data fail. This is just bizarre and I canβt believe itβs onl
We are having to pull the implementation of logbook back because users are complaining they are not tell what projects logs are associated.Β We would have to add a field and manually type this in.Β In the past the CRIs always list the name of the project they were associated with.Β We can do Items with in a project but do to standard templates every project can have something with the same name.Β And pull anything by Portfolio is not doable.Β has anyone found any work arounds for these. Users love the idea of logbook but these are show stoppers.Β Β .Β
When a task is copied over and pasted in a WBS, the paste option window opens up and there are several fields that are already preselected. We would like to have these fields to come deselected so that users can pause long enough to assess what it is they are copying over. Has anybody received feedback from users like this?Β We think it would be helpful if they could change the default settings so that the checkboxes are deselected by default, but weβd be interested in other usersβ thoughts.Β Β
We utilize requirements for future year forecasting and budgets.Β We attach specific resource types to requirements.Β I cannot find any βout of the boxβ reports that pull the Requirements Criteria in.Β Does anyone know of any reports that can pull this information?Β Thank You,
