I want the field in another table, which corresponds to the intersection of two values, to be updated as soon as the first field is modified.Could you please assist me about this workflow rule please ?

New to AdaptiveWork here and don’t know if we are missing something.How do we @mention all Project members (including Resources with Team Member license) in a discussion post started on the Project and from a discussion post started on any Task in the Project.We DO NOT want to create a discussion group for every single project.We have some ideas for custom actions or workflow rules but want to make sure we aren’t missing an easier option before creating workarounds.Any help would be greatly appreciated, we are going live in the next week and this is something that is required.Thank you so much!

I’m getting an “Invalid parent wbs reference” when importing a CSV file to an existing ProjectPlace plan.  WBS 21.4 exists as an Activity in the Plan.  I want to import activities under 21.4 so my line items in my CSV file are number numbered “21.4.1”, 21.4.2”  (and so on) in the CSV file.  There are no extra spaces nor any periods at the end.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi All, I am looking for you expertise - please help.We have weekly timesheet time periods. We submit and automatically approve our timesheet on Friday CoP or on the last day of the month. Progression runs automatically every Sunday night and at the end of month.Finance consolidates the timesheet actuals at the end of each month (extracting data from Planview).We want to lock timesheets so that they can no longer be disapproved/edited once the month is closed.We can disapprove/edit timesheets for the current and future months but not for last month.How can I do this in Portfolio please???How to you lock timesheet / cut off period etcI look forward to your help on this.Many thanks in advanceTony. 

I understand how to make a copy of a board in a PP Template.  I have not figured out how to “paste” that into the other PP Template workspace.  The help on this topic says it is possible, but it does not give the instructions on how to “paste” that copied board.  Thank you...

Is it possible to return the name of a project’s related customer when querying the project via the API?  I believe the relationship is between project, customerlink and customer.  However, I can’t see how to relate customerlink to project as I get the following error:Query:https://api.clarizen.com/v2.0/services/data/query?q=SELECT name, sysid, customerlink.customer.name FROM project WHERE id = '<PROJECT ID HERE>'And got this result:    "errorCode": "InvalidField",    "message": "Entity 'Project' does not contain the field 'customerlink'", When I try to query the customerlink with the same project ID using:SELECT customer.name, entity.name FROM customerlink WHERE entity = '<PROJECT ID HERE>'Then I get the name from the customer table and the name from the project table.  I just don’t seem to be able to get the customer name by querying the project tableI’ve had this problem with other entities, specific

Is it possible to set up a dependency so that a PM cannot request resources until a project task or milestone is marked complete?

Is there any way to upload pictures or files from my local machine via the API? Looking into using Sharepoint’s API as a workaround assuming Adaptivework’s API doesn’t have this capability. I have added few persons as reviewers by default when a new project is created. Project manager can add more reviewers later on also. But can a reviewer add another reviewer to same project? Is this functionality directly available or do we need to think to provide editor access to that particular reviewer to achieve this?

I am wondering whether anybody uses this Backlog functionality within Portfolios for waterfall projects or is this mainly used for Agile projects?

Hello everyone, I’m looking for advice and insights on how you’re utilizing the Resource Planning module to get a forward looking view of workload. Specifically, I’m interested in understanding how you’re managing and forecasting resource demands and capacity.Some questions I have: How do you use the resource planning module to anticipate future workload?  Are you creating dummy projects linked to demand to simulate upcoming work? If so, how effective has this been?  What strategies or practices have you found most useful for aligning resource availability with future project needs?  I’d greatle appreciate any examples, tips, or best practices that you can share. We’re starting to look again at managing dependencies using successor/predecessor relationships across projects/work items.  In the past we’ve avoided this due to the risk that a single change from a predecessor project could have a ripple effect across the entire portfolio, impacting everyone’s plans with no control or obvious ‘root’ cause.  However I’ve recently been led to believe that there are global parameters which can be set to restrict this ability to reprofile downstream plans as a result of a planning violation without a direct confirmation from the owning Plans PM if dependencies fall out of line, instead some kind of warning or notification is launched.  Has anyone used, this? If so I’d be keen to see some support material & any downside impacts that such a constraint may have on, for example, progressing engine processes, wider plan scheduling or CPM

Hi Planview Community,I hope someone can help us with the following issue in AdaptiveWork:We have a project with some activities where the resource assigned by the project manager occasionally requires support from another resource. We need the main resource (assigned by the project manager) to be able to modify only two fields within the activity: “% Percent Complete” and “Resources” (adding and removing resources). Is there any way to make this strictly possible for these two fields without granting permissions for the entire project or the projects module to the main resource?Thanks for your support.Best regards.Oscar SuarezPM

Hi,We are using Custom Object inside our projects. We can add new person as a reviewer to the projects using dataloader which gives them permission to view the project data. But is there any way to provide permissions to custom object using dataloader directly? We have created a custom action for now but there is a limitation that it will take 50 rows at a time and we have to click multiple times to provide permissions.If  this is possible then please share a sample for dataloader file. I checked the fields but not sure how to provide viewer role.

When I export Logbook items to Excel or view them in Work Portfolio Dashboard I can view the ‘create date’. However when I view my Logbook items from the view in Portfolios I can’t see the ‘create date’  or ‘last updated date’ and see no option to add these fields to the view.  It seems like a fundamental requirement to have this data displayed.  Is there something I’m missing? or is this functionality not available?
