Hi Community, I have a question about best practices for planning and profiling requirements/assignments. PMs very often profile requirements in our projects. However, it sometimes happens that activities need to be extended. In such a situation, extending the activity by changing the Schedule Finish or directly extending the Duration causes the profiling set by the PM to be completely disrupted, as the system itself tries to adjust the data to the new end date. The PM would like it to remain as originally set and to be able to profile additional days/months manually. Is there any functionality that I am not aware of that allows this?

Dear Community, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has come across a similar challenge. We’re using Logbook data in several Power BI dashboards now. We also manage data quality across project, resource and logbook data. For project and resource datasets, we’ve built weekly trending snapshots showing how data quality changes over the last four weeks.Where we're struggling is the Logbook. The Logbook Quality dashboard itself works fine but since we can’t build our own dataset for Logbook (different OData connection and no DB access), all quality logic had to be built directly in Power BI. That means we currently don’t have a straightforward way to capture historical quality snapshots for Logbook items.Has anyone found a way to handle historical Logbook data quality or built something similar? Hello, I am trying to use a Validation rule to block the completion of a task and redirect them to a custom action. This part was easy. However, the text in the pop up is plain text and does not show as a URL Link (Blue/Underlined). Hello,It’s been a week now that when in a discussion i select a group of users or a discussion group in the “notify”, no notification and no email is sent.When i do the same by tagging the members individually, it works fine.Anybody else encountering the same issue ?I have evidence that it worked fine on my first post last week.

Hi Community,We’re trying to update rate cards per project that are based on primary user group assignments rather than the user Job Title. If we update the overall Group Rate, we won’t be able to tailor it per project, which you can do with the Rate cards assigned to each project. However, our organization has many different Job Titles that it would take a lot of manual oversite to add a new job title to each rate card for each project...however our user groups are pretty standardized.. Does anyone know how to do this or any suggestions?

Hello Community, I am trying to show the Current Active Milestone at the Project level for visibility on projects and reports. I was able to create a rule that updates this field based on a filter using State = Active and Executable = True. When there are dependencies used and only one Active/Executable Milestone at any given time on the project, this works flawlessly. The issue arises when there are older WBS in play and dependencies are not properly used. In this case, there can be multiple Milestones with Active/Executable state and the rule always updates with the last Milestone not the first, which would be the preferred outcome.  Question: Short of updating every project to use dependencies at the milestone level as a limitation to this configuration, is there anyway to bypass this issue and roll up the Current Active Milestone wheather there is one that matches or the first milestone when there are multiple matches.Ho

Planview AdaptiveworkHi,I have a resource who has already been assigned to Project A, say 0.5 to Sep and 0.5 to Oct, now,If the same resource’s allocation needs to be increased - to be assigned 0.6 to Sep and 0.6 to Oct, how should the staffing request be, should it be for delta, i.e,. 0.1 and 0.1 or 0.6 and 0.6 respectively. If the request is in the latter format, the capacity planning shows 1.1 and 1.1, overallocation. If it is delta, then it becomes challenging to track. What is the best practice? If the same resource’s allocation needs to be decreased - what should be done?We do not want to turn off the staffing request required flag as we want the resource manager to approve.Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Planview AdaptiveWorkHi,As an admin, I found that a particular user has both the Project Manager profile as well as Resource Manager profile (the Project Manager profile is active) by navigating to:Settings - Profile and selecting Project Manager profile - Members and similarly for Resource Manager profile.My question is - how to produce a custom report to identify all profiles for all active users.When I use the user object, I can only get the active profile. When I use the user, profile and profile members objects, the results are all skewed.As AW doesn’t have any join provision, reporting seems to be like searching for needle in haystack.Can someone please advise what all objects to join?Thanks

Currently, it's not possible to configure access to a specific drive or folder within a SharePoint site when setting up a ProjectPlace Workspace. This limitation presents a real challenge: our teams manage hundreds of projects, and linking SharePoint broadly would unintentionally expose all of them — far beyond what's needed for a single workspace.While there are occasional workarounds that allow linking to a specific folder, the behavior is inconsistent and unreliable, making it difficult to scale securely and efficiently.If this impacts your workflows too, we strongly encourage you to add your voice in the forum. The more visibility and engagement this issue receives, the more likely it is to gain traction with the development team. Your feedback can help prioritize this feature and shape a solution that works for all of us.
