Editable?: Calendar Non-Working "Exception Type" picklist

Here are the current choices for "Exception Types" that we see in AdaptiveWork and would like to edit (to match our actual time-off reporting system).Is this list configurable? :  I thought it might come from the “Resource Utilization Category” picklist mentioned in another topic but it doesn’t seem to be related to that Work Item property (which IS customizable).

Custom Panel - Dynamic height

I’m looking for an example on how to set the custom panels height based on object relation count. Has anyone implemented this or something similar without css maneuvers?Is there any documentation on View and ViewMode?Finally I was hoping someone could explain this function to me GetBusinessUnit()Love from Iceland :D

How to automate Adding New Users to Set of Work Items?

Hello Community, When our admins add a new user to the system, is there a way for this new user to be automatically added as a resource to certain work items in a project?Our use case is, when we have a new employee join, there are a set of work items/timecodes that they’ll need, and it gets a bit tedious adding each new resource to the 10+ work items. I’ve tried adding them to a user group, where it’s listed as a resource to those work items but it doesn’t appear to work. Maybe through data loader?Any advice? Many thanks!

Custom Workflow to Add Auto Add Expense Sheet

Hello, I’d like to create a custom workflow that adds an Expense Sheet every time a new user is added to the system, assigning the newly created user as the owner of the expense sheet.I’ve gotten this far (screenshot) on the custom workflow, but when I tested it, the owner defaults to me, not the newly created user.Any ideas on what I may be missing?Also a bonus if anyone knows how to update the description to include the name of the newly created user.  Many thanks!

Validation Rule to prevent hours being allocated after the project due date

Hi all, I need some help with a validation rule that I’m creating to prevent hours being allocated on the Staffing Request after the project due date has passed.Rule: If the due date is 03 May 2025 and I entered hours in July 2025, the VR will trigger.But I’m not able to use nested fields in the VR. Please help. What am I doing wrong?

Team member profile

We are using Team member profile with full license but I want to display different columns in scheduling view of project. Is it possible?can we create another profile with same access rights as Team member but with full licence? Then I will be able to assign different views.

assign resource on task automatically based on metadata field project location

I am creating a project template. It will have 3 milestone and 1 task in each milestone. I want to add resources to the task automatically based on user groups created region wise.if region is UK then resource should be user group from UK region. If region is APAC then the resource should automatically pick the user group from APAC region. How to save it in Project template and milestone template.

How to Bulk Upload Expenses within Container

Hello, I would like to bulk upload expenses within referenced expense sheets/containers. In my spreadsheet I’ve referenced the related expense sheet/container to house the expenses (2024 Expenses for Kayla) but when I upload them, it ends up creating new individual expense sheets rather than within the referenced expense sheet. For example, below I’ve used the external ID of “2024 Expenses for Kayla”  But when I upload, it creates the expense as an expense sheet/container instead: Does anyone have experience with this or what I may by missing? Thank you!

Reported Time Per Day Reporting

We have a department-wide project with multiple resources each assigned their own task under 1 milestone. The project spans several months. Each resource records their time on their timesheet whenever they work on the task. At this stage, a lot of the work is filler work. Staff works on this project whenever time allows. I’ve been asked to create a monthly report to see each resources’ weekly timesheet activity. Example:JuneResource 1 (1.75 Hrs)6/04: .25 hrs 6/05: .5 hrs 6/18: 1 hr Resource 2 (9 hrs)6/11: 3 hrs 6/21: 5 hrs 6/25: 1 hr I cannot edit any out of the box Time Tracking reports, and I’m struggling to create it myself. How to get a project copy with no relationship to the original project.

Hello community,I would like to know if you are aware of any alternatives for creating copies of projects in Adaptive Work. Here are the challenges we’ve encountered with the existing methods: Copying and Pasting Schedules: When we copy and paste the schedule from the original project to another project, dependencies are created between the activities of both projects, even altering the original schedule. Excel Import/Export Functionality: While using the import/export functionality in Excel, the activity IDs remain linked between both projects. If we remove the IDs, it affects the hierarchy of activities and subordinates. MS Project Import/Export: When importing MS Project files into Adaptive Work, the dates are restricted as “user-defined,” preventing automatic planning calculations (such as dates and durations). When attempting to make copies of projects with a large number of activities using any of the three alternatives mentioned above, it requires a very tedious and complica

Why are Custom Object rows created at project level are not reflected under milestone task?

I have created a custom object and link is created at project level and task level. In my project the PM should enter the rows at project level. And team members should update different columns for same rows. But same rows are not reflecting under milestone tasks. The custom object at task level is showing blank even though the rows are added at project level.Is there a way to sync the data?let me know in case i need to share the custom object sample here for better understanding.

Bulk Project Assignments for One Resource

Can I assign and delete tasks at the user level? Use Case: We have hundreds of projects and if someone new joins, or terminates, I have to manually go into each project and add or remove them. There has to be something I am missing that I can simply add bulk projects to one project and not have to go in to each one.

Why do manually updated resource's demand hours in the capacity planner disappear by the next day after submission?

Hello! My team has been playing around with capacity planner lately and found that as a resourcing manager, you’re able to make changes to a resource's demand manually in the planner and then submit. This seems to update the capacity planner without making changes to the project, which is good since able to be we want to forecast what is the real projected demand per resources which might not be reflected in the project plan. The problem is that it seems that once you submit, these hours seem to disappear from the capacity planner by the next day. Is this a normal behavior from the planner?

Read only access to Integration user

Hi Team,I need to know if there is a possibility to create read only account within Adaptive work. Ask here is to map permission to use this account for  where account should only be able to read all the data from system without capability to update anything. This account will be used as Integration user. I tried giving super user rights to the user however giving super user rights gives the ability to update projects of other user also. We are using Basic authentication. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Project Financials | Non-Labor costs show up inaccurately - Summary vs Non-Summary mode

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has experienced issues when using multi currencies for projects. We have our organization’s currency set up for EUR, but have projects in different currencies. We have noticed that when Non Labor costs are entered into the financial planning non summary view, the aggregated value is incorrect. However, the summary view, shows the correct aggregated value. This is a very annoying issue, since the value rolled into the work item’s fields (the ones showing in the property card) is the non summary view. Has anyone else experienced such an issue? Thanks!

What to do when you aren't able to create a multi-select reference to object (Resource) field?

I am trying to create a field that can be manually updated within a task with users, in the same way that ‘Resources’ can have users added. I am able to create a new field as ‘reference to object, user’ and this allows people to populate the field with a user name however it only allows a single user name. Is there a way to create a duplicate of the Resource field?I am not able to view the Resource field in configuration and have been advised this is intentional because of its field type.

How to override the auto-calculate for the % complete field

I need to manually update the total % complete for a project and when I try, if the new value is lower than the current value it returns to the current value.  How do I work around this?Thank you for your time.Sharyn

Conditional Format Rows in Reports?

We are creating a division report that shows all the projects their departments are supporting. Within the table, we have information grouped by name, portfolio, and then project. I know how to conditionally format a column in report, but is there a way to apply conditional formatting on a row? It would be great if each portfolio name row could be a different color to make the report easier to digest.

Using Functions to calculate Financials over a Given Time period

Hello, I’m currently using the GetTotalFinancialSummaryForGivenPeriod function to calculate a Project Budget for a selected time period (PlannedBudget), which is working great & returns correctly for the period I’ve specified in the function.However is there a way or another function to then split this into Labor & Non-Labor? i.e. if the total returned is $50k for a given period in my function above, I want this to return for example $25k Labor, $25k Non-Labor. I’ve tried using both BudgetCostLR & BudgetCostNLR in a range of different functions but it does not work… any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thank you!
