Now that the Planned Hours Remaining field has been fixed, we turned it back on and noticed that there was an alert when a user has negative hours. This alert instructs users to enter a new estimate in the Revised Estimate column but we don’t have that column turned on as it does not alert the project manager who is usually not the resource manager that they need more hours.  How could we do one of the following?Update that message to instruct them to reach out to the project manager Turn off the alert when we don’t use the Revised Hours column Add Revised Estimates field as a reportable field either in an existing or new report or in a tile 

In Planview, Is it possible to see the date & time someone entered a resource forecast for a particular individual resource plus also any historical entries and when they changed? Trying to workout who entered a forecast first for a particular resource and when

Hello,We have a team that reviews documents associated with a project; this is initiated by a lifecycle step.  Sometimes they have to send it back to the user for revision.   They would like to receive an automated notification when the file has been updated and re-uploaded...sometimes more than once.  Have any of you have been able to make this happen without creating additional lifecycle steps to loop the document/content review process?  Thank you.  

Has anyone been seeing strange issues with their resources and or timesheet after upgrading to June. We are have time disappear and not being able to use the portfolio Timesheet functionality unless we do it on Fridays. We also had issues with costs for resource disappear out of our financial plans.  Anyone else having issues.. We went from March to June release. 

Is anyone using the new capability in PV admin for Sign In by Username?   We are confused as to what username this functionality defaults to.  Our initial test seem to use an email address which does not add any value.    Thanks!

I was asked this question by a user and I am not sure of the answer. If you copy WBS lines with requirements or allocations and paste them into a different project, and in the paste you do not deselect the option to bring along those resource assignments, do you now have two of each? Or does the original get deleted? Or does the assignment not come along?Forgive the beginner question. I was off for three months and forgot everything. :-) 

We ran into an odd issue with Planview on Monday, May 30th, which was the start of our workweek (we run Monday–Sunday). When submitting timesheets, the system flagged a warning expecting 10 hours to be reported for that day, even though everything seems to indicate it should be 8 hours.Here’s what I’ve checked so far:The calendar setup looks correct. Timesheet hours per week are set to 40 hours. Planned effort for that day was 8 hours.I can’t figure out where the 10-hour expectation is coming from. Has anyone else encountered this or have ideas on what might be causing it?

I’m trying to add some visualisations / visualizations to a Planview.Me screen.  I want to select a specific portfolio for users to see for that data view.  In the instructions, under ‘Available Functionality’, it shows how to select a portfolio for this purpose: Data Visualization widget - Planview Customer Success CenterI’m unable to see that icon (briefcase / portfolio).  Is there a different way to see this, or set the portfolio now?

After the excellent Planview Day UK in London yesterday, I’m trying again to get Planview.Me up and rolling.  Is there a specific place to ask questions on that?  I don’t see a group, category or tag.  Thanks.

Hi All, One of our KPI/OKRs is counting milestones of a certain type across all our projects.We have defined the Milestone Type and would like to have a metric that automatically counts the number of Milestones of “Type A” per quarter etc… Does anyone have experience with a similar set-up?  Can this be used with OKR?Previously, we’ve done it with a dedicated PowerBi reports but I would rather prefer to have it as OKR?Any experience with this?Please let me know. Thank you.Tony

Hi, In Portfolio, we have the following associations: Work → Outcome → Strategy.I want to create a work portfolio that lists all the work associated with a particular strategy (same for outcome).Are there any ways to display the associated strategy (and outcome) in a work portfolio? Can I also use this column as a filter in the work portfolio definition?Please help and share your wisdom.Many thanksTony.

Hello everyoneThis is my first post in the Pv Community - so all guidance is very welcomeAs a client, we use 4 Planview Products for separate and unconnected Business departments in our client company.  Each product has a client product owner and unique set of stakeholders - all unconnected. There are only two topics in common between the products and product owners  1. The vendor (Planview)  2. The nature of the tool and stakeholders (involved in change management, with the product owner in a PMO type role). As a company we have evolved organically to this position and are now exploring if and how we can manage the products collectively, interface into the vendor (Planview) centrally and where the vendor and client may be able to add value through central oversight and management of 4 products and 4 separate support models/contracts. First question then is whether other clients have a similar experience to ours and if so, the second question is around if/how you have established some

Hello, good afternoon, could you inform me what use or utility to see the current/forecast subtotals in the financial plan.We really don't know what information we need to have recorded financially for the financial plan to display totals with this option. 

Wondering if anyone can advise a way to create point in time snapshots of Project Assessments screen. Not sure what the default name is for the configured screen as we have changed it and I don’t know the history. But we have project achievements and the various RAG indicators etc. (Project Status Report).  I know I can print to pdf or similar however wondering if there is a way to snapshot and keep the history in the Planview portfolios system.Any suggestions or tips on what others are doing would be appreciated.

Hi I’m interested in how users of the legacy CRI functionality are capturing their portfolio level risks, that are not connected to programmes or projects? We have a requirement to capture Portfolio level risks, which could be stand alone risks to the portfolio, and escalated risks from programmes and projects. Currently we're only using the legacy CRI functionality and keep portfolio level risks in an excel outside of Planview, which means that we need to manually collate the full portfolio risks.We’ve considered having a project entity that represents the portfolio, to allow us to capture risks but this doesn’t feel like a good long term solution. Has anyone else achieved this in Planview Portfolios? Many thanks

We have a requirement to do some calculation based on the date fields and set an attribute. How to achieve this in Portfolios?

What drives the assignee field in Logbook. Some people show up and some do not. I can not figure out where the list of people is coming from. 

We want to educate our users as to what license they have.  This would be value add when one person is trying to delegate permissions to another.  If the delegatee can see they have a Team Member (or Time Reporter Only) license they could then identify that they will not be able to perform RM or PM tasks...or we would educate them that they need to look at that first when trying to cross train. Just curious if anyone else has found a need/desire to inform their individual users of the license they have and how you may have done that.  Thanks,PamNASCO

Hello Community,Our organization is currently undergoing a significant update and “cleanup” of Portfolio screens. Our goal is to shift towards primarily using tabs in the main project menu rather than on-screen anchored buttons for better navigation. This approach works well for most of our screens.However, we've hit a roadblock when trying to anchor the organization-specific screens. Due to the large number of these additional screens, administrators use either specific internal designations or very long descriptive names to differentiate them more easily. Unfortunately, these detailed names are not necessary for end-users and can make the main menu tabs look cluttered and confusing.The current system doesn't allow us to rename tabs in the same way we can rename on-screen anchored buttons. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? If so, have you found any workarounds to display user-friendly names on the main menu while retaining the detailed internal names for administration? A

Hello All, We have a use case where a select number of users need to be able to be accounted for in capacity but we do not want them to have to do timesheets.  We want to know they exist and are available for work but not have to enter in timesheet with 00s on them or have to deal with the timesheet alerts.  The only way we have found to turn off timesheet is enter an end date, which then causes issues because we can not see them in reports as active - since they are “ended” Any thoughts or suggestions? Any one else have a similar use case 

If we assign named resources to tasks within Ms Project and then upload the schedule back into PlanView Portfolio, it automatically approves the resource to the tasks and bypasses the resource manager requirement to approve. If we assign a resource role this take the correct route of requiring resource manager intervention just not a named resource.Is there any configuration that we can implement that stops this happening?

Hi  We are using Strategy and Work structures to capture programs and projects.  We now have a need to capture a level between program and project, and I can’t think of a possible way to do this. The requirements are:  Large program - we need to capture attributes about the programme detail, including RAG status and financials, milestonesSub program - these make up elements of the the larger program and we need to capture attributes about the programme detail, including RAG status and financials, milestones.  The financials of the sub programmes will be rolled up from the projects associated to the sub programme, and will then roll up to the large program.Projects - projects will be associated to the sub programs, with the standard capture, plan, resource, financials etc. We know that we could create the “sub programmes” as program entities and use a portfolio view to view all the relevant grouped information, but this would not allow us to capture financials and milestones at the larg
