Question:We have a custom field called Initiative Type with multiple options. One of the options is Minor Budget Request (MBR).When a user selects MBR under Initiative Type, we would like the Project Sub Type field to display only two specific options: Business Planning and Out of Cycle Initiative.If the user selects any other Initiative Type, the Project Sub Type field should display the usual/default set of options.Has anyone configured this kind of conditional dependency between fields in Planview? If so, what is the best way to achieve it?

Can you setup a field (or attribute) for URL’s / Hyperlinks (while viewing Work Portfolios) which link to individual JIRA Epics?  Thanks!

I have a number of tiles set up for specific individuals and/or roles.  For ease. I’d like to link to them directly, from Planview.Me.  IK can’t find any way to get the direct URL, and the browser URL does not change based on the tile selected.  Is there a way to do this?  Thank you.

The data point of Remaining Planned, on the timesheet, has been a big topic here at NASCO this year. There was an issue with it that was introduced in the December release and since then a few fixes with one or two modifications. I’m curious how other Planview customers expect this data point to work as I’d like to get additional perspectives to help broaden our thought process. I know we can get used to the way things used to work, but I still want to ensure it is something our end users can easily understand.My expectations would be:Remaining Planned in timesheets that are integrated should not change and should reflect what the remaining effort looked like at the time the timesheet was submitted. This helps with researching also. Today this data point changes and always matches what is on the current active timesheet. Remaining Planned would reflect the total overage ((total actual + un-progressed time) - approved effort) thus

We noticed this month our timesheets now default to the beginning of the month. Even if it has been signed and approved. I tested in one of our sandbox where we have the cutoff set for May 31st and the timesheets default to the beginning of June. Anyone else seeing this?

Hi All,Have anyone faced this issue? In one of the customer instance, the analyze tile does not do anything. I am an Admin and have use reporting/analytics permissions etc. I even tried with out any filters/formatting. Once I click Finish nothing happens. ThanksSakthi,.

Hi All,    Has anyone had any luck or experience developing a Mass Upload/Update tool on their own to interact with Portfolio’s open API’s? I heard someone mentioned in another forum that they knew of a few companies that got this to work. I know Planview utlizes a tool themselves to update attributes in Mass from an excel sheet (or at least it’s prepped in a custom excel sheet). It would really help out with support if we were able to make these changes to any attribute, structure, resource information.  Just curious if anyone had any luck incolving any of this.

Anyone else having issues after the July Release?  Our user base cannot view the entire Work Details screen. Our screen is configured to use Smart logic - Sections of the screen are visible based on work classification type. Our end users are not able to see sections based on work classifications, only the top section which is open to all. Strangely, admins cannot see this issue, which makes it difficult to troubleshoot. 

Our company was on the early release and trials for CoPilot with Portfolios.We asked our users for feedback on how AI could add value to our Planview Portfolios ecosystemOne of our users had the suggestion to use AI to auto test new releases. AI could analyse our database to understand our config and our user journeys so as then to learn what outcomes were expected from each user journey AI could then repeat these journeys in our sandbox on new releases and confirm which “user journey outcomes” were the same as before and “which were different”AI testing of upgrades would save Planview and the Clients much time - resulting in more clients being able to take on more regular upgrades and avoiding customer service impact for client and Planview in addressing bugs in our Production database.QsIs this idea feasible for Planview to trial - is Gen AI capable of this yet ? We are finding that when a person is allocated to a project, and that allocation completes the system (progression) is not always removing that project from the resources timesheet.  Is there some specific logic that progression uses that creates an exception to removing the proeject from “Select Work”?Unfortunately, we have found that in these cases - the resource allocation appears the person should not be time writing to the preject, but the system continue to allow the time writing.  Note this will show as negative on the person’s timesheet, but does not prevent time writing.Thanks,Joe

Now that the Planned Hours Remaining field has been fixed, we turned it back on and noticed that there was an alert when a user has negative hours. This alert instructs users to enter a new estimate in the Revised Estimate column but we don’t have that column turned on as it does not alert the project manager who is usually not the resource manager that they need more hours.  How could we do one of the following?Update that message to instruct them to reach out to the project manager Turn off the alert when we don’t use the Revised Hours column Add Revised Estimates field as a reportable field either in an existing or new report or in a tile 

In Planview, Is it possible to see the date & time someone entered a resource forecast for a particular individual resource plus also any historical entries and when they changed? Trying to workout who entered a forecast first for a particular resource and when

Hello,We have a team that reviews documents associated with a project; this is initiated by a lifecycle step.  Sometimes they have to send it back to the user for revision.   They would like to receive an automated notification when the file has been updated and re-uploaded...sometimes more than once.  Have any of you have been able to make this happen without creating additional lifecycle steps to loop the document/content review process?  Thank you.  

Has anyone been seeing strange issues with their resources and or timesheet after upgrading to June. We are have time disappear and not being able to use the portfolio Timesheet functionality unless we do it on Fridays. We also had issues with costs for resource disappear out of our financial plans.  Anyone else having issues.. We went from March to June release. 

Is anyone using the new capability in PV admin for Sign In by Username?   We are confused as to what username this functionality defaults to.  Our initial test seem to use an email address which does not add any value.    Thanks!

I was asked this question by a user and I am not sure of the answer. If you copy WBS lines with requirements or allocations and paste them into a different project, and in the paste you do not deselect the option to bring along those resource assignments, do you now have two of each? Or does the original get deleted? Or does the assignment not come along?Forgive the beginner question. I was off for three months and forgot everything. :-) 

We ran into an odd issue with Planview on Monday, May 30th, which was the start of our workweek (we run Monday–Sunday). When submitting timesheets, the system flagged a warning expecting 10 hours to be reported for that day, even though everything seems to indicate it should be 8 hours.Here’s what I’ve checked so far:The calendar setup looks correct. Timesheet hours per week are set to 40 hours. Planned effort for that day was 8 hours.I can’t figure out where the 10-hour expectation is coming from. Has anyone else encountered this or have ideas on what might be causing it?

I’m trying to add some visualisations / visualizations to a Planview.Me screen.  I want to select a specific portfolio for users to see for that data view.  In the instructions, under ‘Available Functionality’, it shows how to select a portfolio for this purpose: Data Visualization widget - Planview Customer Success CenterI’m unable to see that icon (briefcase / portfolio).  Is there a different way to see this, or set the portfolio now?

Hi All, One of our KPI/OKRs is counting milestones of a certain type across all our projects.We have defined the Milestone Type and would like to have a metric that automatically counts the number of Milestones of “Type A” per quarter etc… Does anyone have experience with a similar set-up?  Can this be used with OKR?Previously, we’ve done it with a dedicated PowerBi reports but I would rather prefer to have it as OKR?Any experience with this?Please let me know. Thank you.Tony

Hi, In Portfolio, we have the following associations: Work → Outcome → Strategy.I want to create a work portfolio that lists all the work associated with a particular strategy (same for outcome).Are there any ways to display the associated strategy (and outcome) in a work portfolio? Can I also use this column as a filter in the work portfolio definition?Please help and share your wisdom.Many thanksTony.

Hello everyoneThis is my first post in the Pv Community - so all guidance is very welcomeAs a client, we use 4 Planview Products for separate and unconnected Business departments in our client company.  Each product has a client product owner and unique set of stakeholders - all unconnected. There are only two topics in common between the products and product owners  1. The vendor (Planview)  2. The nature of the tool and stakeholders (involved in change management, with the product owner in a PMO type role). As a company we have evolved organically to this position and are now exploring if and how we can manage the products collectively, interface into the vendor (Planview) centrally and where the vendor and client may be able to add value through central oversight and management of 4 products and 4 separate support models/contracts. First question then is whether other clients have a similar experience to ours and if so, the second questio
