I want to check if we can remove the license from Planview AdaptiveWork when an account is disabled. We are using Azure AD as an IDP. Though we remove the member from SSO group, license assignment is still in place within AdaptiveWork. So, how to remove the license when an account is disabled in AD and removed from SSO group?
Hi All,Has anyone created a custom action where any open RAID items are automatically closed when a project state is updated to completed?
I am able to make a report listing project assignment by resource within AdaptiveWork reporting by pulling in the Project and Resources module. Within the Excel Add-in I am having trouble locating the Resources module and. Does anyone know where it is located within the Excel Add-in?
Hello,We have many employees who are part-time and we have adjusted their work schedules in the individual calendar so that their capacity is less than 100%. For example, a resource that works 30 hours per week (out of 40 hours total) will have a capacity of 75%.Our users get very confused when reviewing the Resource Planning module/view and compare capacity and assignment when Units is selected. The capacity of the resource might be 75%, so our users think that all of the assignments should only total to 75% or less. Actually, the assignments should total to 100% or whatever the target utilization is for the resource. Unfortunately, our users consistently fail to remember this and we have to retrain them continuously.Does anyone have any suggestions for how to help users remain that assignments, when viewed in Units, can be more than the capacity of the resource if the resource is part-time?Thank you,Carey
Workflow rule to calculate business daysBest regards, could you please help me with a function that can calculate the business days between the start and end dates of an activity, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.Thank you.
Hello everyone,I need a workflow that will calculate a due date but will only count working days. For example, if I wanted the due date to be 1 day after the created date and the created date was Friday at 12:00, the due date would be Monday at 12:00

To get the accurate conversion of resource efforts from hours to fte for a given month, the formula is: FTE = efforts in hours/ (7 hours per day X number of working days in a month) (Example: if a person has worked 120 hours in July 2025, that has 23 working days then the fte = 120/7 X 23) = 120/161 = .75fte) Our Calendar in Global settings mentions number of days in a month as 20. This field is mandatory. As a result of this, efforts when viewed in project assignment, staff request pages and capacity planning application in fte do not display accurate results. How to get the system to dynamically pick up the actual number of working days in a month (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) and not a fixed value. Thanks in advance.

When creating a new Project from template, customers do not want system to mark checkbox to 'Make owner for the entire work plan' as a default.

We have an issue when putting time off for individuals - Lets say two weeks in July. Any assignment they are assigned doesn’t respect this time off. If just doubles the hours. If they are mark as already having 100 utilization as being off, why does the system just add 40 hours to this any time the task is adjust or if they are assigned something new. As people schedule for vacations it just puts them as over everywhere in the system. Any thoughts on how to make this easier.
Aside from the action menu ‘Roadmap Visibility’, is there any way to see how Milestones are set for display in roadmaps within a grid view like a normal field? Or to see how multiple milestones are set without having to actually launch a roadmap to see it. By needing to make 2+ clicks just to see the option for each individual milestone (when not inside of a roadmap) is mind numbing. Where is the setting stored and can it be exposed / managed via a field? Hoping there’s a better way… or maybe there will soon be a better way?
It would be useful to have a button to export capacity planning data to an excel spreadsheet as some users requested to capture for reporting purpose
Is it possible to tell Slide Publisher how to sort/order the results of a repeating slide?
Is there a way that we can give our executive leaders access to capacity planning without making them resource managers in the system?
Hi Everyone,Hoping this is an easy answer. Is there a way to utilize a custom action to change the view of a project? I have a couple use cases where I need to have a user change from a project details ‘overview’ view to a gantt chart view and would like to have that fire off via custom action rather than have the user manipulate the ‘project details’ view manually.I am leveraging the Dynamic Layouts to manipulate the project details, but need to move to a gantt view. Thank you!
In May 2025 AdaptiveWork and Advisor released a new integration between the two products. This enables the following:•Create multiple project scenarios to represent alternative implementation plans or delivery timelines•Use built-in variance analysis tools to see what assumptions are different across the scenarios and how they are impacting the KPIs•Bring base case and alternative scenarios into the portfolio to compare investment plans and understand how they impact overall portfolio value•Maximize portfolio value by generating alternative portfolios using manual selection, prioritization methods, or optimization techniques•Powerful visualizations allow you to compare portfolio options and provide clear trade-offs for decision makers•Develop contingency plans to respond to project delays, changes in market conditions, or regulatory events Blog post: https://blog.planview.com/combining-adaptability-strategy-portfolio-management/? I have been trying to generate a document publisher report on a Project that creates a related table from the Targets module. Every approach I’ve tried has caused the file to be corrupted with the error “Word found unreadable content in test.docx. Do you want to recover the contents of this document? Approaches triedTargets via AssociatedItem (the obvious answer) Targets with my own reverse reference Targets via ContributingWorkItems (not sure if this is a real capability) Contributions AssociatedItem TargetHierarchyLink with my own reverse referenceI noticed the doc publisher macro template doesn’t include any reference to Targets or Objectives, so I’m wondering if perhaps it’s just not supported?I did verify that Slide Publisher can pull the same data out, so definitely just a problem specific to makin word docs.Interested to hear from anyone who has managed to generate a related table of targets in document publisher, and what sort of comment syntax you’re using :)
