Feedback Needed: Incorporating Viz into Daily Scrum Ceremonies (video recently released in Viz)

Hi everyone,I’d love your feedback on the short video we put in Planview Viz that shows an example of integrating Viz into daily scrum ceremonies. The goal is to show how teams can keep work up-to-date, address bottlenecks, unblock work stuck in wait states, and maintain a balanced workload while prioritizing critical work.We also highlight how adding Timeline events can help make disruptions and delays visible, giving teams the visibility they need to take proactive action.I often hear that team members are interrupted, or blocked waiting on a skill set, or a code merge or other frustrating blockers preventing them from keeping their work flowing. We’d love to make this more visible to help not only teams, but their customers and business. Does the video clearly communicate these benefits? Are there any improvements or additional aspects you think we should address?Thanks in advance for your insights!

Resource Load: can you add a defualt column for all users to see

As Admin, can you add a column to the Resource Load view as a default column for all users to see or do individual users have to add it themselves? We wanted to add the reportable column in this instance so users could filter in Resource Load so they only see tasks where reportable is true/switched on...

WRK14 Forecast to Complete calculation

We have added a Financial version called Actual Project Spend, where we are reporting "actuals" on projects, rather than using the Forecast Period date and letting Planview calculate the forecast / actuals based on that date. No forecast costs are entered in the Actual Project Spend version. We are creating a custom version of the WRK14 report and our use of the Actual Project Spend version (FM: Working Version used when generating the report) is causing the Forecast to Complete (and thus, the Forecast at Complete) to not calculate correctly. I don't see a way to remove these columns from this report. Is there a way we can change how they are calculated (or remove the columns completely) in the Financial Summary section of this report?

Document Publisher Template formatting for URL Links

Hello AW community, Another Document Publisher question to find the right way for this advanced configuration…Use Case:I have a DocPublisher template that requires links back to Project in four ways…Project Link - Link in Word docx that will allow the reader to link back to the Project details page. Roadmap Link - typically DocPub uses a format thumbnail that shows the roadmap within the word docx. However, I am looking for a basic URL link back to AdaptiveWork that will bring up the Roadmap view only Gantt Link - Same as Roadmap Link above. Tasks Link - This is at the task table level that runs through and lists all tasks that meet the criteria for the current/next period, etc. Looking to set the Task name column as a url link back to the task in AdaptiveWork. A possible secondary solution could be to have a static custom field that shows the task URL and pull that into a separate column with the caption “Task Link” or similar. Custom Workflow to update a field on related entity when an email is created/attached

Hello AdaptiveWork Champions, Typically this is relatively straight forward but running into all kinds of issues and could use some help. I am working with AdaptiveWork Emails related to Cases (Requests and Bugs) which is very old technology so it may simply not work anymore. However, here is what I am trying to accomplish…Use Case - update State field on related entity (Cases) when an email is received, specifically when email From is not equal to Assigned To. This will tell the system that the requestor has replied to the case and the State should be changed from Pending response to Work in Progress. However, I am running into the following issues…When building the Evaluation Criteria, I am not able to see Related Entity > <Cases Item>.Item Type to specify the rule to run only on Requests and Bugs with specific other data points. Fine, so I removed evaluation criteria to only run when the the related entity > ID was a certain value, still nothing Set evaluation to run al

How to manipulate Project Highlight Report to show Task Resource(s)

Hello Community, I am stuck and need some config guidance on this one. I am using the Project Highlight Report to send an HTML formatted report showing Project data. The specific issue is with the Tasks tables (Last week Actuall Start date/ Actual End Date) and Next week (start/Due date). Issue: Regardless of the code I use, I am not able to show the Task Resources associated with each task in the list. It seems the variable that pulls the Resource is capturing the resource on the first task and then uses the same resources for every other task. I need a solution that will iterate on Tasks (from PHR custom action on Project) that meet the PHR criteria and show the unique resource from each task. Is this possible? Current usage is the PPR: ResourcesDisplay field but that pre-populates every time the # of resources changes. This does not show the true Resource on the Task. I changed this to run as a variable to pull the task resource but ran into the issue above where the resource for e

❔ Question for the community: What success metrics do you track? What Planview Reports do you use to track those metrics? Last week I wrote about the importance of celebrating success and recognizing achievements, which might have you thinking…How do I measure success? It’s honestly one of the most frequently asked questions I receive! Well, drum roll please….it depends on what success looks like to YOU. Some metrics can be gathered using your Planview tools, while others might be captured outside of the tool, but no matter where you source your metrics, one commonality applies – Governance must exist. For example, timesheet compliance. Success metrics can be captured by tracking the number of timesheets submitted on time, but individuals still need to determine what “on time” means – is it every Friday or every day? Is there a column in Task List view that shows tasks with overallocated resources scheduled?

In the Task List view, there does not appear to be any way to mark all tasks that have overallocated resources. For e.g. MS Project puts a red resource icon in the Info column making it easy for the PM to go to such tasks at a glance. The only way in PPM Pro seems to be to click into each task and check.If not, is there a way to achieve this with a calculated field?

New actual expenditure - Invoice number

Hello,When entering new expenditures in the project plans, our users are required to enter the invoice number and the supplier. However, it happens that two different suppliers issue invoices with the same number, and we are therefore blocked by the tool, which does not accept two expenses with the same invoice number. How do you manage this situation?We are also considering the possibility of adding a prefix to the invoice number, but as the field is limited to 20 characters, we are hesitant to choose this solution.Thank you for your help!

REST API filters - Any documentation?

Hello,We’re beginning our journey using Portfolios’ Rest API.While pretty straightforward in its use, there is one undocumented option that we are struggling with.Using the Work endpoint API, the /public-api/v1/work query has a ‘filters’ parameter that does not have more extended syntax documentation than what we found on the Success Center The single provided example for a work item (that is, a task below PPM) is: project.Id .eq 1906This is a little odd because when looking at the project data type, there is no Id attribute, instead we’d usually use projet.structureCode or project.shortNameWe tried applying a similar filter on those attributes but always got a HTTP 400 Bad Request response. Is someone aware of a more detailed documentation on the API system used by Portfolios that would describe the filter syntax used here? Or is there a specific Portfolios API documentation available somewhere (maybe from the inner circle group)? Thanks in advance and have a nice end of week.

Encourage all Portfolios users to review enhancement requests in IdeaPlace

I’m sure most people are aware of the enhancement request campaign in IdeaPlace for Portfolios. Curious how often do most go out and review what has been submitted or recently updated? There are a lot of great ideas out there, but in order to get them pushed up the Product team’s priority list we need to ensure we are voting on ones we feel are important to how our companies use the tool. I, personally, review the list at least twice a month so I can be sure to know what others are asking for to help push the votes of on the ones I feel are most beneficial to how we use the tool. Sometimes I’ll also switch my sort over to “Posted” to ensure I see any recently posted ones as well. Placeholder Resource Capacity Planning

Hello, for our resource forecasting we’ve been requesting/assigning Placeholder (i.e $Config) resources prior to assigning to a specific resource. Since they are a Placeholder and don’t have actual Capacity, we’ve zeroed out their capacity via the Placeholder’s calendar. However, now we cannot request/assign the Placeholder because AW processes it as an actual user with no availability. The reason we zeroed out the Placeholder resource’s capacity is because it was skewing the metrics in capacity planning, making it look like we had additional team member availability/capacity when it was really just a placeholder. Does anyone have advice on how to request/assign a Placeholder resource without a Placeholder’s capacity getting counted into Capacity Planning?
