Bulk Load Project Assignments - entering days/months for multiple projects & multiple people

How do I change brackets to minus signs within the financial pages

From within my strategies, i am able to run my financial however all negative values are showing as brackets and not a minus sign. How do i change this?

Good afternoon, Planview team,I hope this message finds you well.I am reaching out to request clarification regarding the limitations and governance mechanisms of the AdaptiveWork API, as outlined in the REST API Guide - Version 2.Specifically, I would like to understand how to handle queries that require extracting more than 100 records, given that the documentation mentions the following:Request batch limiting: The total number of requests that can be processed in a single call to the web service is 100. Request limiting: The total size of requests sent in a single call to the web service must not exceed 25 MB. Call limiting: 1,000 API calls per paid license per day, with a maximum of 1,000,000 calls per day. Rate limiting: Up to 25 requests per second are allowed, with the quota being global for the organization, not per user. Request conditions limiting: The total number of conditions (OR/AND/IF, etc.) in a single API call should not exceed 200 by default. If the quota is exceeded,

Track progress of a Custom Action (Progress Monitor?) and/or best practice for debugging?

Hello community,We have been provided some Custom Actions and Workflow Rules by a consultant and they just don’t work as promised. I’m trying to debug them myself but can’t find the tools that would inform me on the progress of the running actions/rules or where things are going wrong.I thought the Process Monitor might be helpful when a long-running process takes place (like a Custom Action looping through and processing 100+ records) but I see nothing there.And the Support article for Process Monitor doesn’t actually explain what Triggers the monitoring to begin! Can I cause monitoring to begin and to report out? What actions get “monitored”?If not there, where else can I see any helpful information about why my Custom Action processed only 1 record out of the 20 I expected to load data into Financials and update each row’s status in this Custom Object?This consultant has said that sometimes processes get ‘stuck’ without sharing how to un-stick them (or know if they’re stuck or just

Planview AdaptiveWork missing timesheets as of 5PM Friday

Hi Community!Very new Planview AdaptiveWork user here, so thanks in advance for your patience with me. I am hoping someone could provide very detailed insights on how to create a report that would list all missing timesheets as of 5PM (as an example) each Friday. We have timesheet reports, but haven’t been able to narrow in on this specific use case related to timesheet compliance. Thanks in advance for any and all guidance - the more detailed, the better :)

Custom fields on time-phase Labor Resources

I have introduced a custom currency field on Time-Phase Labour Resources with a workflow to update it when needed. The updated value does appear against the individual work-item in the Financial Planning View (following refresh of the financial data), and sometimes it appears correctly in the summary view, however sometimes it does not get picked up into the rolled-up number.My questions are : Can anyone let me know what triggers custom fields on Labor Resources Time Phase to be updated into the summary view? How are people handling custom fields on Time Phase Labor Resources if they cannot be trusted to always roll up in terms of presenting the information to users?  Thanks

How to move finances in time according to how the dates of the schedule move

I am contacting you to request clarification on the behavior of the movement of the finances recorded and associated with the activities of the project schedule as the start and/or due dates of the activities, milestones and projects are modified. Currently, the financial items that move with the project are those associated with the resources selected in the schedule as responsible for a certain task and that have a cost or billing rate. On the other hand, the NLR are not updated with the dates of the schedule, so it must be done manually. With this situation in mind, we are seeking to configure the system so that the finances related to the NLR also move according to the dates that can be modified in the activities, milestones and projects.

Hybrid Work View / Classic View - Switching between the two

Hello,Is there a way to make a more seamless transition between the ‘Classic’ view & ‘Hybrid’ view without relying on the blue banner to make the switch? Currently our users spend most of their time in the ‘Classic’ view, but need to switch to ‘Hybrid’ view from time to time to use the Board and now Whiteboard. Ideally we would like to make a custom panel with some buttons in Classic view to navigate them to the correct sections of the ‘Hybrid’ view to make it more seamless + when we share a Board, they are often in the ‘Classic’ view and forget to switch to the ‘Hybrid’ view resulting in additional support reminding them to use the blue banner to switch over.Just wondering if anyone has had any luck to maybe setup a more seamless transition between ‘Classic’ & ‘Hybrid’ without fully relying on the blue banner to make the transition. Many Thanks,Sean

Use Custom Action or Workflow to set Project specific Rates

Hello,We have a range of Projects where we want to setup a Project specific rate.Currently we use the ‘Prices and Rates’ functionality within the Work Plan (Resourcing tab) to acheive this, but we have to set the rate for each Resource line by line.Does anyone know of a way to use a Custom Action or Workflow to try and bulk update these impacted Resources on a Project or for when a Resource is newly added to a Project in future to apply a set Project rate?Currently we’re looking in the ‘Resource’ → ‘Assigned’ → ‘All Links’ in Configuration to see if this is possible.  Many Thanks,Sean

How do you handle FTEs less than 1.0?

The only way I have been able to create capacity less than 1.0 for users is by creating calendars in sub-groups. My org is large and we have many many non 1.0 employees, and at varying %FTEs. How have you handled this at large? I can’t manually keep up with it every week...

Rolled Up Action Items Report

Does anyone have any experience with creating a report in AdaptiveWork to roll up Action Items that are nested and attached to children work items. For example we have a program and are trying to create a report to aggregate any action item that is attached to any Project, Milestone or task nested under the program. We would also like to do the same type of report for Risks, Issues and Decisions as well eventually.

Workflow Help: When adding a new project resource, the Reviewer field updates with the direct manager

Hello Planview Community! I’m looking for some help to develop a workflow that triggers when the project Resources field has been updated with a new resource. When adding a new resource, we would like for that resource’s direct manager to automatically be added as a Reviewer to the project.  This will help streamline some of our stakeholder management. Instead of PMs having to manually look up the direct managers for status reports, they will automatically be listed as a Reviewer.

Isolation the TE task Line from all other scheduled tasks

I have a unique need to setup the TE Line(s) for our engineering community is a way that once Requirements are set to that TE Line NOTHING (except for the project manager updating) modifies the Start and End dates.  I fully understand that this is not how the system is designed, and again stress this is a unique situation that I am looking for advice / “work around”.  Inputs and recommendations are very much appreciated.

Validation rule to restrict completion of a milestone/task if ‘Executable’ field is false

Can anyone share example of validation rule to restrict milestone/ task completion if the executable field is false. I can see my first milestone is executable but my validation rule is throwing error to complete this as well.

Why are milestone dependencies not preventing out-of-order completion in my project setup?

I am creating a project template in which i added 5 milestones. I have given the dependency for milestones as predecessors and successors. Still it allowed me to complete the milestone 3 before I completed milestone 2. How to put restriction? Do i need to write workflow rule? Then what is the use of setting dependency in workplan?
