Ms Project Importing in AdaptiveWork without restrictions

Hello community,We hope everyone is doing well.We have a concern regarding a situation that arises when importing schedules from MS Project to Adaptive Work.In PV Portfolios, it is possible to import a project schedule from MS Project while specifying how it should be imported. This allows us to avoid relationships between predecessor and successor activities, restrictions, flags, and resource assignments.We would like to know if there is a similar functionality in Adaptive Work to prevent dates from appearing as “user-defined” when importing from MS Project. We require this because having date restrictions prevents the system from automatically calculating durations and dates. Consequently, we need to manually remove each restriction to enable proper planning.¿How do you usually handle this issue with the restrictions in Adaptive Work? Best regards,Oscar Suarez

Dynamic Summary Card Layout

Hi there!We have been creating reports and dashboards, and noticed that for some graphs, you can hover over the Project name and get a Summary card displayed. We like that, as it provides complementary information to the data on display. However, the summary card layout is the same anywhere you are looking at it.For example: we are now focused on financial dashboards, so it’s valuable to add to the summary card information related to the Project Budget, Actual Cost, Forecast. However, if we are looking at a demand dashboard, such information wouldn’t be that valuable. Is there a way to create a dynamic layout for summary cards? Maybe add a rule to make it contextual? Thanks! Maca

Rolled Up Action Items Report

Does anyone have any experience with creating a report in AdaptiveWork to roll up Action Items that are nested and attached to children work items. For example we have a program and are trying to create a report to aggregate any action item that is attached to any Project, Milestone or task nested under the program. We would also like to do the same type of report for Risks, Issues and Decisions as well eventually.

project name to be updated on custom object

I have a custom object named SKU. At project level different team members will be adding values to relevant columns to this object at each milestone. Then they will mark task as complete and next milestone will be created.in this SKU how to add reference project name?workflow to be defined at project level or On SKU object directly?My project name should automatically be populated in SKU object when new row is created on SKU.

Data Loader - members of group update

Hi all,I’m hoping to get some assistance with data loader. I’m trying to add members to existing groups and using update to add the members. However, it keeps saying that the field Member is not updateable using the item type: GroupMembershipLink. Can someone advice which item type I should use if this is not the correct one. There is more than one member per group separated by commas.Thank you :) Jess

Restore workplan

Hi All, I have received below query from one of my super user ,any help will be greatly appreciated :“Some of the PMs have put constrained start and end dates on task that I've asked them to remove so activities are properly scheduled.  To remove the constraint, they need to use 'Restore'.  Can they do a 'restore' for multiple tasks or do they have to do that for the start and end dates individually?”

custom action to delete current milestone and make the previous milestone active

I need to create custom action to delete current milestone and set the previous milestone as current one. Has anyone tried and can help?i do not want to use the inbuilt delete button in ribbon. In that profile we do not give delete option in ribbon.

Hybrid Work View / Classic View - Switching between the two

Hello,Is there a way to make a more seamless transition between the ‘Classic’ view & ‘Hybrid’ view without relying on the blue banner to make the switch? Currently our users spend most of their time in the ‘Classic’ view, but need to switch to ‘Hybrid’ view from time to time to use the Board and now Whiteboard. Ideally we would like to make a custom panel with some buttons in Classic view to navigate them to the correct sections of the ‘Hybrid’ view to make it more seamless + when we share a Board, they are often in the ‘Classic’ view and forget to switch to the ‘Hybrid’ view resulting in additional support reminding them to use the blue banner to switch over.Just wondering if anyone has had any luck to maybe setup a more seamless transition between ‘Classic’ & ‘Hybrid’ without fully relying on the blue banner to make the transition. Many Thanks,Sean

Resource Load: can you add a defualt column for all users to see

As Admin, can you add a column to the Resource Load view as a default column for all users to see or do individual users have to add it themselves? We wanted to add the reportable column in this instance so users could filter in Resource Load so they only see tasks where reportable is true/switched on...

Custom Workflow to update a field on related entity when an email is created/attached

Hello AdaptiveWork Champions,  Typically this is relatively straight forward but running into all kinds of issues and could use some help. I am working with AdaptiveWork Emails related to Cases (Requests and Bugs) which is very old technology so it may simply not work anymore. However, here is what I am trying to accomplish…Use Case - update State field on related entity (Cases) when an email is received, specifically when email From is not equal to Assigned To. This will tell the system that the requestor has replied to the case and the State should be changed from Pending response to Work in Progress. However, I am running into the following issues…When building the Evaluation Criteria, I am not able to see Related Entity > <Cases Item>.Item Type to specify the rule to run only on Requests and Bugs with specific other data points. Fine, so I removed evaluation criteria to only run when the the related entity > ID was a certain value, still nothing Set evaluation to run al

How to manipulate Project Highlight Report to show Task Resource(s)

Hello Community, I am stuck and need some config guidance on this one. I am using the Project Highlight Report to send an HTML formatted report showing Project data. The specific issue is with the Tasks tables (Last week Actuall Start date/ Actual End Date) and Next week (start/Due date). Issue: Regardless of the code I use, I am not able to show the Task Resources associated with each task in the list. It seems the variable that pulls the Resource is capturing the resource on the first task and then uses the same resources for every other task.  I need a solution that will iterate on Tasks (from PHR custom action on Project) that meet the PHR criteria and show the unique resource from each task. Is this possible? Current usage is the PPR: ResourcesDisplay field but that pre-populates every time the # of resources changes. This does not show the true Resource on the Task. I changed this to run as a variable to pull the task resource but ran into the issue above where the resource for e

Resetting user-set filters on a report

Hi Community,I have a report which is expected to be run via a button on a view of the project - the button (which is a custom URL field) passes in the Project name to an action which generates the report - see bottom of this email for how this works.My problem is that occasionally, the more enthusiastic users try editing the filters on the report so generated to see the data in a different way. Unfortunately, if they remove the filter, running the report via the button causes an error as their instance of the report is not expecting the field which is passed in. As an Admin, is there any way to reset the filters on user’s instance of a report remotely? Management Job Title

Hello, good morning,If we manage rates by Job title in the system, we have seen that changing the job title modifies the project rates in the past, present and future.Is there any parameterization that allows the project finances to be maintained with the rates of the job titles that the resources had associated at some point?If the client changes the resource's Job title, what would be the best practice to rate the projects so that this situation does not affect the finances of previous periods in which the resource had another job title? RegardsJhon

How do I switch an inactive user to be active again - at task or project level?

When using the ‘replace resource’ function, we note the individual being replaced is automatically set to 100% and marked as an ‘inactive human resource’. However, we wanted to reinstate them on a project as staffing arrangements had changed, but we couldn’t do this. We had thought an Administrator might be able to override the default setting to 100% or that the individual themselves could override this but neither was successful. How do we reinstate them to tasks or projects where they have previously been replaced using the replace resource function?

Actual Timesheets vs. Project Assignment Reporting

Hello PV community,I’m in need of some advice to create a report that shows resources actual timesheets vs. their project assessments.I started off with creating a report with the structure below, but when I run it, it shows the actual approved time as blank...even though I’ve check that there are in fact Approved Time to the listed projects.Any advice on creating such a report or what I may be doing wrong?
