Just wondering if anyone has been able to add a table type formatting in the comments text box.

I am curious what other customer do to provide read/view only access in Portfolios.   We have two types of roles but neither is quite right.   We go between the Team member role but that roles doesn’t allow access to Strategy and Programs or a Requestor role but this role doesn’t allow the user to create/maintain portfolios.    We would love to use the Requestor license more but are worried about the administration of the portfolios that is needed to support this type of role.     Any thoughts appreciated.

Hello.  My use case is that a) I need a means to pull financials (rates) being forecast for individual resources by activity / project.  I know I can leverage RES24 which you can total up costs and list the rate associated with resource (by activity / project) but the monthly view appears to only allow views for hours, days, and FTE.  I’d like to quickly see costs.   To that end, my second (and most important) use case is that on top of that I would also like to include actuals for months prior in the year.  Again, RES24 can do this but the actuals appear on another line on the report versus the same line which lists the work, prior hours, and future allocated hours.  Any way around all of this or perhaps a different report?  Thank you!!

Hi all,Has anyone successfully restricted users to only Add and Modify the Task’s Planned Expenditure without allowing them to Delete? We aim to enhance our security in this area, as deletions are impacting other integrated systems.Any insights would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

I mistakenly advised by PMs to use the # of notes column to keep a record of changes made against a person/resource, rather than against a task. I looked to see if I could easily delete the notes assigned to people but couldn't find a way. Does anyone know if there is a way of deleting a note in # of notes?

I am pretty new to AdaptiveWork and I’m trying to understand the best approach for a Workflow Rule where an email notification is sent to the Resource and Program Manager when a Task (within a particular Portfolio) is created and/or edited.  I will provide specifics attempts I’ve made but a general question I have is: how do you determine the best actor for the rule?  I have tried to create a Workflow Rule from ‘Task’ and from ‘Resource’; each have presented challenges.  This particular portfolio is being used primarily as a virtual Inbox for task assignment and reporting on hours worked (not Project Management) though Tasks are nested under Projects.  Note: The former is creating the emails within the Task but not emailing out.  Workflow Rule for : 'Task'Run time: Every time a record is created or editedCriteria: $ParentProject.C_PortfolioNameSend EmailTo: $ResourceCc: $Parent.ProjectManagerSubject: New Task Assignment: {$

I am hoping someone could provide very detailed insights on how to create a report that would list all missing timesheets as of 5PM (as an example) each Friday. When a user goes to add a file to an object in Adaptivework, the prompt shows the “Existing” and “New” tabs. As we don’t want some files to be visible by certain users in our instance, I would like to remove this “Existing” tab entirely or make sure that I’m able to control what is visible in this tab.Can this tab be removed? And how is access to see these files dictated? Seeing that some accounts can see certain files under existing even when not added to a Case, Project, etc. that has said file

We have a few users testing importing projects from MS Project to Portfolios using the MS Project add-in.  When trying to upload a MS Project plan (.mpp) to Portfolios, users are experiencing an error that I’m not sure how to troubleshoot. “-General Failure: Unable to update projects with tasks:  Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection .Parameter name: index” Anyone have any tips on what could be causing this error?  Thank you,Sonia Varney

I like the Hybrid Work Management new UI, however I am still missing the possibility to display custom objects that are relating to a project for example. Are related objects going to be integrated soon in Hybrid Work Management ?

Hello Community, Our organization is working on a Planview-Salesforce integration to bring timesheet entries into Salesforce.  The goal is to consolidate all our data in one place for comprehensive management reporting and dashboards.  We're encountering challenges getting the timesheet mapping to work correctly.  Has anyone successfully implemented a similar timesheet integration from Planview to Salesforce and be willing to share their approach or any tips they learned?Thank you, Carlos Z.

I have been trying to find a way to better present the ‘expected progress’ of a project. The default calculations are soley based on durations, however, most project efforts are not perfectly linear like that, but rather more of an ‘S-curve’. What would be great is if there was a way to save the Time Phased forecast data when a project is ‘Baselined’, so that I could create a custom expected progress field to measure against the ‘baseline forecast’. I have tried created a custom field to capture this via a worfklow, however, it does not seem these time phased fields can be updated via a workflow, or even manually. Am I doing something incorrect?I also realize there is a field called ‘Original’ that may have been intended to serve this purpose, but I am struggling to figure out how this field is calculated, and it appears it cannot be changed once its populated.Anyone have any ideas on how to create this custom functionality, or have some other s

Hi, How / Where can I manage the permissions related to templates? I have one superuser who tried to update a template via the “Save as template” and override existing functionality, but she is stopped via a validation rule. I am unsure if this is a default validation rule activating based on her permissions or a custom one set up by the previous product owner. The validation rule seems to stop her from deleting the previously made Template.Does anyone know if the templates have a separate permission configuration and where I can find it or if I should keep looking for a custom validation rule? E.g. does she need to be set as owner on the project she is trying to save as a template?Kind regards, Mathias

Hi, I am looking for any best practices or examples in creating an approval flow for decisions made at certain points of our projects. I know there is an approval flow using e.g. Ziflow but I don’t have access to this one, and is wondering if anyone has had any success with something else, perhaps more simplified?The process is roughly.[Capture project data] → [Add manual comments] → [Send for review] → [Review & Discuss] → [Approve/Decline] → [Lock & Archive]The outcome would be a locked object showing the frozen data, with comments and names of the approvers.I’ve tried using the Document publisher to create a pdf that could be attached to an internal request and perhaps a related “discussion object” but I don’t know if this is the best idea.Any ideas would be welcome. 🙂/Mathias

Hello,Is there any way to update a users capacity (or create a new custom capacity) without having to update a users calendar? E.g. a resource has 80% capacity for Project work. Trying to reflect this in a users calendar is near on impossible due to the admin overhead month by month. Alternatively can anything like this be achieved via a custom method? e.g. not using calendars or the capacity module but being able to state a capacity e.g. 80% and then reference this in reports?Many Thanks,Sean

Users are experiencing discrepancy in the allocations when viewing in days/FTE values in Plan vs Staffing Screens.Context: For Permanents they have 35hr/week calendar and for contractors they have 40hr/week calendar. When a permanent resource is allocated 100% on a project they are showing up as 17.5d in Apr 2024, whereas same resource in Staffing screen is showing up as 20.0d.Is there any way to make sure both screens follow same calendars and avoid confusion?

Is there a way to capture hours on a salary employee that is more than 40 but only capture cost for 40 in the financial plan. We want to understand the true hours people are working on projects, which can be more that 40 hours but we also need to have the financial plans recognize the true cost for salary employees (which will always be 40) This can not be a global setting because we have Salary, Fixed Fee and Time and Material employees.  Thank you 

Today, the custom action form size on some of our custom actions changed? Wondering if anyone else has seen this change and if something was changed in the system to do this? Also, I can’t remember how we set the size of those forms. I think it was in global css but if someone has the solution, please can you let me know so I can change them back to what we had before. Thanks!
