How can I see # of notes details when a note is assigned to a task?

I can see any notes added at the project level using the # of notes column in the Overview (as below) but I cant find a way to get my hands on a similar readout to any notes assigned at a task level using the same # of notes column - any ideas gratefully received?

Manual set flag on months in resource planning view

Hi, Hope someone can help me with this. In the resource planning view for a task, without entering any specific resource data, I get a blue triangle in the top of certain months indicating manually set data. I have been assuming that is because I have set public holidays as non-working days in my organisation’s calendar. It would be great if anyone knows a way of setting non-working days without them showing as user-set data in the resource planning view. A further twist to this is that I notice that there are some months with manually set NWDs which do not show a blue triangle. Does anyone know why there is an inconsistency? Thanks Julian

Migrate and Deploy not showing Case Workflow Rules

I need to migrate some new workflow rules created at a Case level across environments. The Migrate and Deploy doesn’t seem to detect any workflow rules created at a Case level. Is it like this for anyone else?

New File as Default when attaching a file via a custom form

Is there a way make the “New” tab the default selection when adding an attachment to a custom action form? Please see the attached screenshot. I know it can be set to default in the Profiles and that’s how we already have it, but I would like to see it default to the “New” tab when adding a file attachment to a custom action form.

In the Resource Load - Where does the Capacity value for a resource come from?

In the Resource Load - Where does the Capacity value for a resource come from. I have a resource that has 5.33 days capacity a week, when it should be 5 days. The resources calendar has not been edited. Thanks in advance :)

Can you delete a note assigned to a person in # of notes?

I mistakenly advised by PMs to use the # of notes column to keep a record of changes made against a person/resource, rather than against a task. I looked to see if I could easily delete the notes assigned to people but couldn't find a way. Does anyone know if there is a way of deleting a note in # of notes?

Workflow Rule - generate email when Resource is assigned to a Task

I am pretty new to AdaptiveWork and I’m trying to understand the best approach for a Workflow Rule where an email notification is sent to the Resource and Program Manager when a Task (within a particular Portfolio) is created and/or edited. I will provide specifics attempts I’ve made but a general question I have is: how do you determine the best actor for the rule? I have tried to create a Workflow Rule from ‘Task’ and from ‘Resource’; each have presented challenges. This particular portfolio is being used primarily as a virtual Inbox for task assignment and reporting on hours worked (not Project Management) though Tasks are nested under Projects. Note: The former is creating the emails within the Task but not emailing out. Planview AdaptiveWork missing timesheets as of 5PM Friday

Hi Community! Very new Planview AdaptiveWork user here, so thanks in advance for your patience with me. I am hoping someone could provide very detailed insights on how to create a report that would list all missing timesheets as of 5PM (as an example) each Friday. We have timesheet reports, but haven’t been able to narrow in on this specific use case related to timesheet compliance. Thanks in advance for any and all guidance - the more detailed, the better :)

Removal of "Existing" tab in File selection prompt

When a user goes to add a file to an object in Adaptivework, the prompt shows the “Existing” and “New” tabs. As we don’t want some files to be visible by certain users in our instance, I would like to remove this “Existing” tab entirely or make sure that I’m able to control what is visible in this tab. Can this tab be removed? And how is access to see these files dictated? Seeing that some accounts can see certain files under existing even when not added to a Case, Project, etc. that has said file

API call to return a project's customer

Is it possible to return the name of a project’s related customer when querying the project via the API? I believe the relationship is between project, customerlink and customer. However, I can’t see how to relate customerlink to project as I get the following error: Query: https://api.clarizen.com/v2.0/services/data/query?q=SELECT name, sysid, customerlink.customer.name FROM project WHERE id = '<PROJECT ID HERE>' And got this result: "errorCode": "InvalidField", "message": "Entity 'Project' does not contain the field 'customerlink'", When I try to query the customerlink with the same project ID using: SELECT customer.name, entity.name FROM customerlink WHERE entity = '<PROJECT ID HERE>' Then I get the name from the customer table and the name from the project table. I just don’t seem to be able to get the customer name by querying the project table I’ve had this problem with other entities, specifically when trying to link tasks with files/attachments. Creating a new mapping for Timesheets

Hello Community, Our organization is working on a Planview-Salesforce integration to bring timesheet entries into Salesforce. The goal is to consolidate all our data in one place for comprehensive management reporting and dashboards. We're encountering challenges getting the timesheet mapping to work correctly. Baseline Time Phased Data

I have been trying to find a way to better present the ‘expected progress’ of a project. The default calculations are soley based on durations, however, most project efforts are not perfectly linear like that, but rather more of an ‘S-curve’. What would be great is if there was a way to save the Time Phased forecast data when a project is ‘Baselined’, so that I could create a custom expected progress field to measure against the ‘baseline forecast’. I have tried created a custom field to capture this via a worfklow, however, it does not seem these time phased fields can be updated via a workflow, or even manually. Am I doing something incorrect? I also realize there is a field called ‘Original’ that may have been intended to serve this purpose, but I am struggling to figure out how this field is calculated, and it appears it cannot be changed once its populated. Anyone have any ideas on how to create this custom functionality, or have some other solutions for the main goal here of prod

Permission settings for Templates

Hi, How / Where can I manage the permissions related to templates? I have one superuser who tried to update a template via the “Save as template” and override existing functionality, but she is stopped via a validation rule. I am unsure if this is a default validation rule activating based on her permissions or a custom one set up by the previous product owner. The validation rule seems to stop her from deleting the previously made Template. Does anyone know if the templates have a separate permission configuration and where I can find it or if I should keep looking for a custom validation rule? E.g. does she need to be set as owner on the project she is trying to save as a template? Kind regards, Mathias

Approval flow with discssion / comments

Hi, I am looking for any best practices or examples in creating an approval flow for decisions made at certain points of our projects. I know there is an approval flow using e.g. Ziflow but I don’t have access to this one, and is wondering if anyone has had any success with something else, perhaps more simplified? The process is roughly.[Capture project data] → [Add manual comments] → [Send for review] → [Review & Discuss] → [Approve/Decline] → [Lock & Archive] The outcome would be a locked object showing the frozen data, with comments and names of the approvers. I’ve tried using the Document publisher to create a pdf that could be attached to an internal request and perhaps a related “discussion object” but I don’t know if this is the best idea. Any ideas would be welcome. 🙂 /Mathias

Resource Capacity Adjustments

Hello, Is there any way to update a users capacity (or create a new custom capacity) without having to update a users calendar? E.g. a resource has 80% capacity for Project work. Trying to reflect this in a users calendar is near on impossible due to the admin overhead month by month. Alternatively can anything like this be achieved via a custom method? e.g. not using calendars or the capacity module but being able to state a capacity e.g. 80% and then reference this in reports?
