Hi all, hoping someone could help with my question. When I change the type of a Risk to an Issue, the system seems to delete the risk record, replacing it as an Issue with a unique ID. Is this expected behavior?thanks Jess
Hi,Pretty basic question here. We are starting to use Topics as a condition for creating reports. There does not seem to be a way for the user to remove a Topic that they created in error. Does anyone know how to delete a Topic that was created in error? Thanks,Carey
I was wondering if anyone has suggestions to improve load times across various modules of AdaptiveWork. We find that if a User Group has more than approximately 30 people, then the Resource Load module is very slow to load. Similarly, most Reports are slow to load or fail to load completely if they have data for more than 30 users. I’m not able to get Dashboards to load if I combine more than 3 charts from different reports. We are using filters to minimize the data shown in these modules but at some point, we can’t make our groups any smaller and still be able to produce valuable reports. We’re at the point where we are exporting data and managing it outside AdaptiveWork to be able to produce the reports we need, but this is not ideal.Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I am reaching out to the community for potential advice or solutions regarding an inefficiency in our current workflow. My team frequently interacts with Project views and, as it stands, we find ourselves continuously performing the repetitive action of expanding our Project view to see all tasks associated with a project.Default “Collapsed” Project View“Expanded” Project ViewCurrently, the system defaults to a "Collapsed" Project View, and while this default setting maintains a clean interface, it introduces a time-consuming step that we must repeat with each project interaction. This process results in an accumulation of redundant clicks over time, representing a non-trivial impact on our productivity. In a previous engagement with support last October, it was noted that a default "Expanded" Project View setting was not feasible. Support Reply Default Hybrid Grid View However, it appears that a Default "Expanded" view is exactly what the Hybrid Grid view is offering today. Regrettabl
Hi All,Does anyone have any idea on any limitations on the number of lines within a program, and how long it takes to open a a Program with 2-3k lines? Thanks in advanceHaydn
Hello Planview community, I’m looking to create a shared user group calendar in AW and am wondering if there’s a way to do this so that it feeds through all the Annual Leave input at each resource level. The goal is for the team to have a calendar to reference for the group to see when team members are on leave in one calendar. I already enter leave at the individual level so is there a way to get it to feed into one consolidated calendar with the applicable group members? I’ve tried creating a new group calendar with the resources added but it does not bring through their leave. Many thanks!
Hello everyone,I hope you're doing well!I wanted to reach out to the community regarding a peculiar issue I've encountered while importing a Microsoft Project into AW.I've been attempting to import a Project with planned work hours specified for each task (as shown in the first screenshot). However, upon importing it into AW, I noticed that the task assignment appears to be off (as depicted in the second screenshot). I'm curious if anyone else has experienced similar behavior or has any insights into what might be causing this discrepancy. Additionally, if anyone has discovered a workaround for this issue, I'd greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you can provide.Thank you in advance for your help and expertise!Best regards, Maca
Hello, I have a weekly crosstab report that shows the week’s data but with headers of W-01, W-02, etc. which can get a bit confusing when looking at weekly data. Wondering if anyone has knowledge of if/how to set it so it actually show’s the week date? Thank you!
Hello! I’m being asked to create a report where we can see if a project is adhering 75% to the original timeline. I thought about creating a custom field based on a formula which would divide $BaselineDuration by a value that is calculated from a field with the formula DateDiff($BaselineDueDate,$ActualEndDate,’d’). I get an error when doing this, “Error: Data types Numeric and Duration not compatible for '/' operation” If I try to save DateDiff($BaselineDueDate,$ActualEndDate,’d’) as a duration instead of a numeric value, I get the error: Error: Formula evaluation result data type is Numeric instead of expected Duration.
Hello all, I was wondering if there was a way to automatically send an email to the owner of an action created in Meeting Notes? For example, I created a meeting note and within it, created an action item and assigned an owner. Do I have to enable a setting or create a custom WFR? Thank you. Jess
I have a case where a user has transitioned from one user group to another. We use capacity planning and his manager has changed, so his new manager needs awareness into his capacity. Since the user has active staffing requests, the system will not allow me to delete him from one group and add him to the new group. The only way I can think to do this is very manual - doing a resource replacement for all projects he is a resource for (replace with a placeholder), deleting him from his old group, adding him to his new group and having to go back in and resource replace the placeholder with his name. This resource has over 50+ staffing requests so this task will be rather time consuming. I’m looking to see if anyone else has had this happen - a resource needs to move from one group to another with active staffing requests - and if you’ve found a quicker way to get this completed?

Hello Planview Community,I’m creating a report where I want to show our calculated utilization % month to month YTD but I want to exclude months with 0 data in it within the highlighted calculations as it drags down overall %(i.e. future months). I tried filtering the highlights to exclude where approved time is not null but get this error: Data types Duration and Numeric not compatible for '<>' operation. Seeking any advice on how to set our report Highlights to calculate from only months that have data - so exclude the 0 data of future months(since we wouldn't have utilization for the future yet). Example: Total January and February data calculates to 80% but due to the highlights calculating data from future months with no data yet, it shows the total highlight as 20%. Appreciate any input. Thank you!
Hello Planview Community,Could use some advice on how best to implement conditional formatting for a report based on calculations. Context: I’ve got a report that shows the calculated resource Billability % and each resource has their own billability targets (Target Utilization % Field). Inquiry: How do I set conditional formatting in the table so that the text is red if the calculated Billability % is less than the individual resource’s Target Utilization %? I’ve tried going into the advanced settings for the conditional formatting but can’t seem to find the Target Utilization field that’s configured to Users. Many thanks!
Good Morning All!I’m relatively new to the Planview environment, so forgive me if this is a very simple thing that I just haven’t found in my search within this forum. We have a custom action called ‘PM Assignment’ where we can assign a project manager, and it will run through and assign that PM resource as the Project Manager and owner for all the work items. However, that same action does not assign the PM as the ‘resource’ thats assigned the task, that’s still a placeholder. We cannot use the ‘native’ replace resource, as the team responsible is handling hundreds or projects per day, and I’m trying to reduce the number of clicks for them. Has anyone attempted something similar before? Am I overthinking this?
Hi. We have enabled the "Daily Trend Snapshots" app in our AdaptiveWork system but we don’t display the "% Progress" contextual panel that this app includes. How can we access to this panel? Or how can we display the project expected progress vs actual progress trend?
We need to have more than one baseline and restore baselines to active schedule.
Is there a way to grant project property card edit permissions for profiles other than project managers?
Hello,I’m trying to generate a report that would display the number of people in each User Group. Hello,Is there a way to load / import Task Assignment against a task within a Project? We have explored the ‘Data Loader’, however we have had little to no success with the available templates to load data in. Has anyone got any tips or methods to do this? Thanks. For example we would want to load this kind of info:Name: Joe Bloggs Date/Period: 01/02/2024 Number of Days: 10 dThanks!
Hi All,When utilising AW Report Charts in Slide Publisher, is there any way to adjust the font size of the text (e.g. labels, legends, URL) as whatever we try to do they come through pretty large….Outside of Report Charts we tend to just adjust the font size of the placeholders, but the same approach does not seem to work for Report Charts. Thanks!
Hi everyone!I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out once again with a question that I'm hoping the community can help with.Context: Recently, we've implemented capacity management within our company, and we've encountered a challenge in tracking the reasons for rejecting staffing requests. It's become apparent that having a log or record of the reasons for rejection would greatly benefit our resource and project managers, while also provide an audit trail. What We've Tried: Discussion Posts: We explored using discussion posts within staffing requests to capture rejection reasons. However, we found accessing these discussions to be cumbersome, requiring users to navigate through multiple clicks. Is there a way to streamline this process, perhaps by displaying discussions as a column? Custom field + Custom Action + Workflow Rule: Another approach we considered was creating a a pop-up window would prompt the rejecting user to enter the reason, upon rejection. For this we created
Hi everyone! Looking for insights on our lastest challenge: reporting on tasks from a Project and its Sub-Projects in one slide. Context: Our project operates in Phases (sub-projects), each with its own set of tasks and milestones. These phases often run concurrently, meaning we might have "Phase 1 - Testing" and "Phase 2 - Design" happening simultaneously. Weekly, we provide project progress updates to stakeholders via a .pptx file generated from AW. This one-pager typically includes Project details, RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status indicators, and a table displaying upcoming tasks alongside their due dates and statuses.Attempts so far:1. Initially, we attempted to incorporate Sub-Project tasks into our existing table by adding a new row. Unfortunately, this approach only populated the Sub-Projects themselves and failed to include tasks from within each sub-project.2. We also experimented with repeating slides for each Sub-Project's tasks. While this method successfully displayed tasks
