Hi all, I was wondering if there was a setting in AdaptiveWork that will needs to be enabled or disabled so that the company logo which is a png/transparent does not show up with a black border around it. Does anyone else have this issue and if you did, could you share the fix? Thank you.Jess

Hey AW Community,  I’m in flight of creating a profitability report for senior management and finance and I’m in a bit of a conundrum as they want to see slightly different things from the same field within our system. My only solution to this is to create a formula for one of the report tabs to give them what they need. SCENARIO: We have our actual Revenue column pulling through billable effort for an engagement(as expected). As with any projects, we will have Change requests; and based on the additional project codes for these changes, we can see whether this burn is billable to the client or non billable. For the Finance tab, where the effort is not Billable - we want to show the actual revenue as ‘0’. (The current functionality of the ‘actual revenue’ field needs to remain in tact for the other report tabs. Question: W

Is it possible for a dynamic layout created for a specific profile to run alongside the same profile’s default layout?For example, we need a different layout for a type of project/process, accessible by a specific profile but we need to allow the members of that profile to switch between default and dynamic layouts.

Hello Community,My goal is to create a portfolio report showing highlights and graphs of all the Go-Live dates for the projects in the portfolio. One of the highlights Id like to show is the number of Projects with a Go Live Date This Month..Next Month...etc. in one tab...anyone have ideas or experience with this?  Many thanks!

Hello Community, is there a way to mass upload information for existing users without AW creating new users? I’m looking to add resource ID’s to our existing users in AW but when I import the spreadsheet with the existing names and IDs, it creates completely new users resulting in duplicate users.  Many thanks!

Team,We utilize versions to manage rate increases at the start of each financial year, beginning on July 1st annually.To control the application of new rates for each financial year, we employ the "Forecast using Date Effective Rates" toggle at the project level.In testing, I observed that:When the toggle is activated and a task spans across the financial year, it appropriately applies different rate card versions before and after July 1st. However, when a task commences on or after July 1st, it consistently applies the new rate, irrespective of the toggle's status. This diverges from our expectations, as we anticipate the default rate card version to be utilized if the toggle is deactivated, regardless of when a task begins.Could you please clarify the expected behavior? Thanks,Cindy

Hello! My organization has the Salesforce integration set up, to create projects based on some Salesforce triggers. We have also enabled the Salesforce /AdaptiveWork “Sync Social” feature so that posts from SF synchronize with those from AW and vice versa.  The issue is that whenever posts written by someone without an AW license are synchronized from SFDC, they all show as being written by me, being the system admin and default workflow user. This not great as obviously we want to keep track on who was actually responding to the questions and conversations; and keep track of that data. I assume changing the default workflow user from myself to some integration user would not be enough as it still show the user as having generated those conversations as opposed to the real users, unless I’m mistaken. Is there a way around this?

Hi community - I have a user who has left the company. I’ve deleted his profile and I’m trying to remove him from a user group so that his hours are not factored into the team’s totals any longer. I’ve reassigned all of the future hours to another person on the team and I went back and pulled “On Hold” projects and removed him from those as well. Every time I try and delete him from the user group I get a Validation Error that says that it cannot delete him because there is a staffing request - but I can’t find anything active. Does anyone know where I can search to remove him so I can delete him from the user group completely?  

We are just setting up AdaptiveWork so I’m interested in comments on best practices on groups for the purposes of rates and resourcing.  We will have Group Job Titles in order to form Placeholder Resources with different rates (for example a cost/billing rate for an Engineer is different in Europe vs Asia vs US).  I am curious if people use these same groups also for Resourcing Groups that have Resource Managers?   That would lead me to more hierarchy with sub-groups… For example, within a region like Europe, we would have a Mechanical Team that would have Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Lead Engineers, Mechanical Designers, etc.  that all have a common set of Resource Managers but different rates within the region.   What are some best practices to consider when setting up groups?

This seems like it would be obvious, but we are not finding an obvious solution to this:How does a Resource Manager get notified when a Resource (of a type they manage) is Requested? And then how does the Requestor (a PM) get a notification once a resource is approved and/or named resource is assigned?Assigning Resources is just one part of people’s jobs here so those Resource Managers are not sitting around watching AdaptiveWork, waiting to see new Requests 👀🙂Emails would be one thing we expect but do not find.  We’d prefer a Slack post (but that doesn’t seem to be how the Slack integration works). If it’s in the Activities or Alerts at the top of the page we’re missing it in the sea of uninteresting data that appears there.Keywords: Resource Requests, Resource Assignments, Notifications, Notify

Is there a way for a File URL to not show up as a long plain text string when the PPT slide generates, but rather a hyperlink to the file based on the file name in the project?

Hi,Pretty basic question here. We are starting to use Topics as a condition for creating reports. There does not seem to be a way for the user to remove a Topic that they created in error. Does anyone know how to delete a Topic that was created in error?Thanks,Carey

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions to improve load times across various modules of AdaptiveWork. We find that if a User Group has more than approximately 30 people, then the Resource Load module is very slow to load. Similarly, most Reports are slow to load or fail to load completely if they have data for more than 30 users. I’m not able to get Dashboards to load if I combine more than 3 charts from different reports.We are using filters to minimize the data shown in these modules but at some point, we can’t make our groups any smaller and still be able to produce valuable reports.We’re at the point where we are exporting data and managing it outside AdaptiveWork to be able to produce the reports we need, but this is not ideal.Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Hello Planview community, I’m looking to create a shared user group calendar in AW and am wondering if there’s a way to do this so that it feeds through all the Annual Leave input at each resource level.The goal is for the team to have a calendar to reference for the group to see when team members are on leave in one calendar. I already enter leave at the individual level so is there a way to get it to feed into one consolidated calendar with the applicable group members?  I’ve tried creating a new group calendar with the resources added but it does not bring through their leave.Many thanks!

Hello everyone,I hope you're doing well!I wanted to reach out to the community regarding a peculiar issue I've encountered while importing a Microsoft Project into AW.I've been attempting to import a Project with planned work hours specified for each task (as shown in the first screenshot). However, upon importing it into AW, I noticed that the task assignment appears to be off (as depicted in the second screenshot). I'm curious if anyone else has experienced similar behavior or has any insights into what might be causing this discrepancy. Additionally, if anyone has discovered a workaround for this issue, I'd greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you can provide.

Hello! I’m being asked to create a report where we can see if a project is adhering 75% to the original timeline. I thought about creating a custom field based on a formula which would divide $BaselineDuration by a value that is calculated from a field with the formula DateDiff($BaselineDueDate,$ActualEndDate,’d’). I get an error when doing this,  “Error: Data types Numeric and Duration not compatible for '/' operation” If I try to save DateDiff($BaselineDueDate,$ActualEndDate,’d’) as a duration instead of a numeric value, I get the error: Error: Formula evaluation result data type is Numeric instead of expected Duration.

Hello all, I was wondering if there was a way to automatically send an email to the owner of an action created in Meeting Notes? For example, I created a meeting note and within it, created an action item and assigned an owner. Do I have to enable a setting or create a custom WFR? Thank you. Jess  

I have a case where a user has transitioned from one user group to another. We use capacity planning and his manager has changed, so his new manager needs awareness into his capacity. Since the user has active staffing requests, the system will not allow me to delete him from one group and add him to the new group. The only way I can think to do this is very manual - doing a resource replacement for all projects he is a resource for (replace with a placeholder), deleting him from his old group, adding him to his new group and having to go back in and resource replace the placeholder with his name. This resource has over 50+ staffing requests so this task will be rather time consuming. I’m looking to see if anyone else has had this happen - a resource needs to move from one group to another with active staffing requests - and if you’ve found a quicker way to get this completed?

Hello Planview Community,I’m creating a report where I want to show our calculated utilization % month to month YTD but I want to exclude months with 0 data in it within the highlighted calculations as it drags down overall %(i.e. future months). I tried filtering the highlights to exclude where approved time is not null but get this error: Data types Duration and Numeric not compatible for '<>' operation. Seeking any advice on how to set our report Highlights to calculate from only months that have data - so exclude the 0 data of future months(since we wouldn't have utilization for the future yet). Example: Total January and February data calculates to 80% but due to the highlights calculating data from future months with no data yet, it shows the total highlight as 20%. Appreciate any input. Hello Planview Community,Could use some advice on how best to implement conditional formatting for a report based on calculations. Context: I’ve got a report that shows the calculated resource Billability % and each resource has their own billability targets (Target Utilization % Field). Inquiry: How do I set conditional formatting in the table so that the text is red if the calculated Billability % is less than the individual resource’s Target Utilization %?  I’ve tried going into the advanced settings for the conditional formatting but can’t seem to find the Target Utilization field that’s configured to Users. Many thanks!
